Africa Youth Climate Action Summit – Abuja, 2020 (#AYCAS2020) will showcase new
initiatives by governments; scientists, businesses, start-ups, and civil society to increase their
commitments to achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement and work towards reducing emissions
to essentially zero by mid-century. The Africa Youth Climate Action Summit will bring together
young activists, innovators, entrepreneurs, and change-makers that are committed to addressing
the global climate emergency. It will be action-oriented, intergenerational, and inclusive, with
equal representation of young leaders from all walks of life. The event will also provide a platform
for Governments, youth, civil society and businesses to demonstrate what they are doing to
reduce emissions by at least 45 percent by 2030, and a target of achieving carbon neutrality by
mid-century.

This Summit will assemble Global experts with a common vision for understanding more about
climate change complexity and explore the mitigation of impacts at the regional and global scale.
Consequently, the Summit will be able to generate knowledge and promote awareness about
current climate change status in Africa. It will highlight the roles of entrepreneurs in developing
technologies, business models and services that societies can use to achieve low-emission and
climate-resilient sustainable development. It will also suggest ways of encouraging, guiding and
supporting entrepreneurs in their efforts to innovate climate technologies and measurement
techniques, and try to find out solutions through potential collaborations between different
institutions belonging to academia, government agencies, Civil society Organisations and
industries. This will, by extension go a long way in creating job opportunities, thereby reducing
poverty (SDGs1) and youth unemployment. Black Wagon Travels
