Regional Director, DOLE XI
4/F AMQ Building Agdao, Dacudao Ave.
Davao City, 8000 Davao del Sur
Sir:
Greetings!
The League of Legal Management Students of the University of Mindanao will be having its Labor
Standards Seminar, this upcoming December 14, 2019, 1:00pm - 5:00pm at AVR2 GET
Building, Matina Campus. This is whole day lecture-seminar that aims to enlighten and enhance
the knowledge of legal management students about the rights of employees and employers as
stated in the labor code and to be aware how social justice is promoted to ensure equality in the
workplace.
As legal management students, we are considered to be labor specialists since most of our law
subjects deeply focus on business management and labor law, thus we are expected to become
experts on how to deal with labor cases involving the company and its employees with regards to
their respective rights as capital and labor to promote social justice in any of its aspect.
In the principle of “Ignorantia legis non excusat” that Ignorance of the law excuses no one, this is
an opportunity for us to become aware of how should a business operate and supervise its
employees and to meaningfully contribute to the society by becoming students of the law with
legal minds to protect and promote economic justice.
In line with this, we would like to request from your good office to have a labor expert as speaker
to conduct the said seminar for us as part of the government initiative to educate students in
different academic institution about important laws and regulations including labor rights.
Your response to this request will be of great help for the success of our academic organization.
Respectfully yours,
HARDLYJUN M. NAQUILA
LEXIUM Vice-President
