STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The intensity of love and passion you have for

your subject is directly proportional to your potential
for success. My aim, being a designer, is to explore my
creativity and designing capabilities in architecture and
thus become competent to create expressive, economical
and sustainable designs. I have always had special
interests in arts, crafts and drawing ever since my
childhood which has made me won various competitions
academically and non academically. And this interest is
the only driving force boosting my creativity. Having
obtained my bachelors of architecture degree, with
outmost sincerity, i was given a firm base in courses like
basic design, contextual & climatic designs, green
designs, building construction and materials, working
drawings, housing, urban planning, structural designs
and building services. A thorough knowledge in these
subjects will help me in pursuing my master level studies.
Good analytical skills, dedication, hard work,
determination, creative solutions for design problems,
quick learning, logical reasoning and self motivated work
ethic are my strengths, which i have developed through
my academic studies.
Architecture is combination of art and
technology and I think, European architecture is the best
example of this. One can get to know a country and its
architecture by actually living there and taking part in
everyday life. I would deeply appreciate the opportunity
to get to know European architecture, culture and way of
life by becoming a part of it. The culture of a place is
reflected in its architecture. I aim to design
architectural structures with characteristics of
vernacular culture at the same time absorbing modern
architectural technologies. Such creations need
systematic approach, perception and comprehensive
understanding. Opportunity to study at your university
will enhance my creative potential and also help me
contribute back to society.
 During my urban design studio, I had
opportunity to explore and understand the urban fabric
of a city. I also got the chance to work in a team which
taught me how to co-operate with team members while
maintaining individualistic approach. In green design
studio, I came across the various aspects of green design
and eco friendly materials which is indeed the very need
of today’s world. This was followed by a design thesis
project, which gave me the overall scenario of handling a
project right from site selection, site survey to its
planning and construction techniques. The design was
vernacular in nature, green in application and modern in
technology. I have developed a special interest in
sustainable building designs during my last two studio
projects.
Taking admission in your university will be a part
of my journey of life as an architect. Studying at your
university, will give me an opportunity to broaden my
horizon in the field of architecture and will also boost
my career. It will give me chance to experience a new and
different culture. I have a quest for learning. It would
be an honour to learn from a team of such good
professionals and academic staff which will help me
prepare for the challenges in the practical field.
