I. Objective:

II. Subject Matter:
Topic: Identifying the persons speaking and addressed, and the stand of
the speaker based on explicit statements made.

Materials: manila paper, marker, and chalk.

III. Procedure:
A. Preliminary Activities
1. Greetings
2. Arranging of chairs. Prayer
3. Checking of attendance
4.Review of the past lesson

B. Motivation
The teacher will show pictures of known personalities and let students
identify each.
C. Activity
The teacher will introduce a game, “Cabbage Game”
When the music stops the student who have the cabbage will take 1 part of
the cabbage. Inside are quotations and task for the students to identify.
Task:
Task 1 - Jump in place, three times. Turn around and clap twice. Read the
quotation. (“ I shall return.” - Gen. Arthur McArthur) Match the quotation with
the pictures in the board.
Task 2 - Give the paper to the person sitting next to you. Let that person
perform the task. Let him read the quotation ( “ The youth is the hope of our
future.” - Dr. Jose Rizal) Match the quotation with the pictures in the board.

Task 3 - Sing and dance “Baby Shark”. Read the quotation (“Change is
coming.” - Pres. Rodrigo Duterte) Match the quotation with the pictures in the
board.

D. Analysis
Stand- an attitude toward a particular issue, a position taken in an argument.
Opinion- a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on
fact or knowledge.
The teacher will explain the stand of the speakers.
Sample:
1. “ We cannot move forward if we allow the past to pull us back.”- Pres
Duterte
2. “ A leader must be a terror to the few who are evil in order to protect the lives
and well-being of the many who are good.” - Pres. Duterte
3. “There can be no tyrants where there are no slaves.” - DR. Jose Rizal

E. Abstraction
The teacher will asked the following questions:
1. What is a stand?
2. What is an opinion?

F. Application
The teacher will divide the class into three groups.

Group 1 Task: Make a stand about the topic “Drug Addiction”. Construct at
least three sentences. Present it in front.
Group 2 Task: Drama (Give your stand about the topic “ No cellphone
Policy inside the classroom.”)
Group 3 Task: Interview (Give your stand about the topic “ Teenage
Pregnancy.)
Each group will complete their task.
