Ref: My Application for stepping up of pay dated 01-01-18, 04-07-18 in comparison of pay with M/Exp
guards Mr. U.K.Sanadya, R.K.Sharma, T.R.Bansal, M.M.Kashyap, Pratap Singh & 13 others.
Sub: Request you to kindly step up my basic pay equivalent to my junior Shri. Pratap Singh, T.R.Bansal & 16
others
R/Sir,
I have earlier submitted my application on the above mentioned dates for stepping up of my pay but have neither
received any response in writing neither did my salary step up.
As per letter no. BB/P/558/GT/Guard dated 14-Jun-17 & BB/ P/558/GT/Guard dated 13-May-16, my juniors were
promoted to mail guard from passenger guard (mail line).
On 01-01-16, all the above-mentioned guards including 13 others were my juniors with basic pay 19140 + 4200.
I was promoted from passenger guard to M/Guard on 28-May-13 with basic pay of 19400 + 4200. After
implementation of 7th CPC, all my junior afore-mentioned guards & I were fixed on 72100 with CPC pay matrix.
All of them got promoted from passenger guard to mail guard as per above mentioned letter & got 3% increment with
Fixed of 81,200 & my basic is 78,800 due to which they are drawing more pay than me.
As per guideline of 7th CPC, “Stepping up of pay for senior if junior got promoted after 1 st Jan, 2016 draws more
pay in pay matrix, the pay of senior Government servant in the revised pay structure shall be stepped up to an amount
equal to the pay as fixed for his junior in that higher post & such stepping up shall be done w.e.f the date of promotion of
the junior.”
