(1) Open your computer case for cleaning and opening the CD tray. The easiest way to clean
dust and particles out of your CD-ROM drive is by using air. But do not use too much
pressure as it may cause damage to the other components.
(2) Buy a CD laser lens cleaning kit. These cleaners are very inexpensive and can be found at
electronic stores.
(3) Use the CD-ROM drive cleaning kit as directed. Basically, you need to insert the laser lens
cleaner in your drive and then follow the audio instructions carefully. The laser lens cleaner
will remove dust, particles and trash from your CD-ROM drive.
(4) Put your CD laser lens cleaner back in its case to avoid damage. To clean the CD itself, wipe
with a damp, soft, lint-free cloth in a circular motion to avoid scratching the disc. Then, play
your CD as usual.
