recorders.
d. State the qualifications and experience expected of persons seeking authorisation and
approvals to issue the Certificate of Maintenance Review (CMR).

AL6 Describe the administrative procedures involved in achieving Extended-Range Twin Engine
Operations (ETOPS) and Extended Diversion Time Operation (EDTO) approvals.

AL7 Describe the roles of an accountable manager in an approved maintenance organisation.

AL8 Describe the various categories of SAR-66 aircraft maintenance licences and discuss the
certification privileges the holders of each respective licence have when working on aircraft at
line or hangar level in a SAR-145 approved maintenance organisation.

AL9 In a SAR-145 maintenance organisation, there are a number of senior managers who are in-
charge of various departments. Identify at least two typical senior managerial positions and
discuss some of the duties and responsibilities these people would have for the management of
maintenance performed on aircraft and aircraft components.

AL10 a. Define “Deferred Defects”.

c. Define “In-flight” in the case of an aeroplane.

e. Name the persons or parties that shall be qualified to be the owner of a legal or beneficial
interest in an aircraft registered in Singapore or a share therein, satisfying the eligibility
criteria of the Air Navigation Order.
f. Explain in detail when the first and subsequent Weight and Balance reports will have to be
put up and when it can be scrapped for aircraft exceeding 5,700 kg MTWA right from the
date of manufacture of the aircraft. You should use a schematic diagram in aid of your
explanation.

AL11 What is Aircraft Maintenance? With reference to the Engineering Exposition Document,
Engineering and Maintenance Support and Contracted out Maintenance, describe some of the
functions and activities that the aircraft operator must have or put in place order to properly
manage the maintenance of an aircraft or a fleet of aircraft.

AL12 Master Minimum Equipment List (MMEL), Configuration Deviation List (CDL), Service Bulletin
(SB), Airworthiness Directive (AD) and Advisory Circular (AC) are important documents that are
commonly used in the aircraft maintenance industry. Describe briefly all of the above-
mentioned documents.

AL13 Describe briefly the administrative procedures to be followed when applying for a renewal of
certificate of airworthiness. Particular attention should be drawn to the requirements to the
aircraft documents, records and logbook entries.

AL14 Discuss the importance of Airworthiness Directives in the maintenance of aircraft and aircraft
components. Particular attention should be drawn to their issuance, compliance, amendment
and cancellation.

AL15 Describe “A Conditions”, “B Conditions”, and “C Conditions” as stipulated in the Second


Schedule of the Air Navigation Order in relation to approvals of the flight of an aircraft in respect
of which a certificate of airworthiness may not have been in force.
