A Reflection on the USeP Hymn

Being a student of this institution, I could never fathom how vast the campus is, how great the
university is as a premiere institution, how incredible and amazing the graduates the university
has produced until I became a part of this esteemed institution. I am proud of what this university
has achieved before I became a student here and what it will be achieving knowing I am now a
member of something big and prestigious.
The hymn features the university and how it serves as a guiding light to every student. The
university also gives hope and wisdom within the path of knowledge, discipline and glory to
become a world-class graduate the school envisions. The hymn shows how the greatness of the
university influences every student here and that how they are trained to make the world an even
better place to live in because the students would someday be the future stakeholders of the
world. The hymn has an impactful and deep meaning behind every lyric which you can feel just
by reading it but would really understand if you sing it solemnly and wholeheartedly. According
to the hymn, the university serves as a baseline for every youth’s hope and dreams and through
the institution, it would be molded and modified to become a globally-competitive graduate, in
order to keep up with the fast-changing and highly developing world. The hymn sees how proud
the graduates of the institution would become once they leave the nest and face the world as a
contributing member of the community in ways that the student has been taught and how he/she
will share the learnings that he/she has garnered within his/her years of staying and studying at
the university. The hymn just showcases how exemplary the university has become, from the
start up to this moment and how valued the students it has produced, has been producing and will
continue producing. The true value of being a USePian is shown within the lyrics of the hymn.
Students within the institution, as stated within the hymn, will be stewards of goodness,
greatness and knowledge as it has been the center of the university’s vision, mission and goals.
The hymn shows that the university is also a fountain of knowledge and joy. That we, as
students, must always be proud of where we came from and of those who helped us.
We as students will always be proud of what we have become if we were to graduate from this
prestigious institution that is also very coveted by many but only a few would get the chance to
being accepted here. We do everything we have been taught from this university and that is
enough to give honor to the institution, to those who helped mold us into becoming better people,
to the country, and to ourselves, our families, and to everyone we owe up to. That is the true
meaning behind the University of Southeastern Philippines’ Hymn.
