The articles pointed out more significant factors and there was sense in all the articles in what is

knowledge management and how successfully can we use it for our own competitive advantage and success in
organizations today. I learned about knowledge management, its definition, characteristics and how effectively
knowledge management can contribute to the success of the organization, just to mention but a few.
By definition, knowledge management (KM) is the process of capturing, distributing, and effectively using
knowledge. In other definitions” knowledge management is the name of a concept in which an enterprise
consciously and comprehensively gathers, organizes, shares, and analyzes its knowledge in terms of resources,
documents, and people skills.

So how does knowledge management help organizations succeed? In my reading from the articles, I have
come across some information on knowledge management that it comprises a range of strategies and practices
used in an organization to identify, create, represent, distribute, and enable adoption of insights and experiences.
Within those insights and experiences comprise knowledge, either embodied in individuals or embedded in
organizations as processes or practices?

In addition, if the organization wants to succeed they need to actively manage knowledge in way that they
can facilitate decision-making capabilities, Builds learning organizations by making learning routine, and stimulates
cultural change and innovation, how? We have seen that if the organizations put in place knowledge management
systems they can facilitate better, more informed decisions through sharing of best practices, accelerating
progress, and discussing success and failures, and experiences.

Furthermore, knowledge managements create a culture where everyone continuously assesses themselves, their
units, and their organization, looking for ways to improve. The last part of making knowledge management useful
in organizations is through accepting and stimulating cultural change and innovation. In this complex, global
business environment, these types of knowledge management programs can help managers embrace change and
encourage ideas and insight, which often lead to innovation, even for local mom and pop business owners.

Knowledge Management has provided a library and information science professionals with a wide variety
of new career opportunities uses in Information Technology. As a multi-dimensional discipline, knowledge
management requires an expanded breadth of knowledge with a mix of different skills. The effective management
of knowledge has been described as a critical ingredient for organization seeking to ensure sustainable strategic
competitive advantage. The articles say that knowledge management to bring out the importance of knowledge
management in organization. Article is able to demonstrate that knowledge management is a key driver of
organizational performance and a critical tool for organizational survival, competitiveness and profitability.

The management of knowledge has generated considerable interest in business and management circles
due to its capability to deliver to organizations, strategic results relating to profitability, competitiveness and
capacity enhancement. KM is identified as a framework for designing an organization’s strategy, structures, and
processes so that the organization can use what it knows to learn and to create economic and social value for its
customers and community.

Organizations need a good capacity to retain, develop, organize, and utilize their employees' capabilities
in order to remain at the forefront and have an edge over competitors. Knowledge and the management of
knowledge is regarded as an important features for organizational survival; while the key to understanding the
successes and failures of KM within organizations is the identification of resources that allow organizations to
recognize, create, transform and distribute knowledge.

Therefore creating, managing, sharing and utilizing knowledge effectively is vital for organizations to take
full advantage of the value of knowledge. The paper also contributes that, in order for organizations to manage
