1. Introduction
The following procedure shall be used as guideline for Hydro Testing activity for line no:E2-EKG

2. Applicable Code Reference

ASME B31.3- Process Piping

3. Preparation work
a. Hydro test will be perform at STS EDAC Workshop for item section B
b. Pressure gauge shall be install on the pipe spool.
c. One calibrated pressure gauges shall be directly connected to the system being tested at the
highest point, and shall be visible to controlling.
d. Fill up the spool with water,at the same time vent all air out of the piping by letting water overflow
through the highest vent to prevent air pocket
e. Hose shall connected to hydro test pump to proceed increasing pressure.
f. The hydro test pressure shall be not than 1.5 x design pressure but shall not exceed 1.5 x the
maximum rate pressure of the lowest-rate component in the system.
g. Hydro tester shall increase the pressure and hold for 5minute for ensure the spool free from
leaking.

4. Test Medium
The test medium used for Hydro test Testing shall be Potable water for carbon Steel.

5. Test Pressure /Range

a. Test pressure follow as per isometric 19.6barg (19.6barg x 1.5 = 29.4barg)

6. Hydro Test flow

a. Increase pressure up to operating pressure 7.5barg & hold the pressure for 5min
b. After 5min increase pressure up to test pressure 15barg & hold the pressure 5min
c. After 5min increase pressure up to test pressure 22barg & hold the pressure 5min
d. After 5min increase pressure up to test pressure 30barg & hold the pressure 15min
e. If a drop pressure observed at any stage, inspector shall check or inspect all joint for any leakage if
the any leakage all leak joint shall be re tighten and process will be repeat.
