Date : 5 May 2003

Experiment : 3.4
Aim : Finding the density of different liquids

Diagram : None

Procedure :
1.The mass of an empty beaker is measured.
2.The beaker is filled with 50 ml of water and the mass
is measured.
3.The data is recorded in the table.
4.The above experiment is repeated using cooking oil.
5.The result is arranged starting from the lowest to
highest density.
Result:

Mass of empty beaker

Mass of beaker + 50 ml water
Mass of 50 ml water
Volume of water
Density of water

Mass of empty beaker

Mass of beaker + 50 ml oil
Mass of 50 ml oil
Volume of oil
Density of oil

Conclusion:

From the experiment I found that the density of water is

higher (_____________) compared with the density of
cooking oil (____________________).
