Introduction

This chapter describes the background of the study, statement of the problem,
significance of the study, scope and delimitation, theoretical lens, and definition of terms.

Background of the Study

This part provide pieces of evidence showing that the problem is existing.
Global (Africa and Asia Pacigfic)
Regional (ASEAN- 10 nations)
Local (Philippines down to the smallest unit, e.g. school)
Statement of the Problem
The statement of the problem is a statement that evolves the overall direction or focus
of the study. Researchers define the purpose of the study in one or more concisely formed
sentences.
The purpose of this qualitative study (replace later with type of qualitative tradition) will
be to (explore, understand, describe, develop, discover) the (central focus) for (participants:
person, process, groups) at/in (site). Specifically, this study aims to answer the following
questions:

Significance of the Study
It provides details to the reader on how the study will contribute such as what the study
will contribute and who will benefit from it. It also includes an explanation of the work's
importance as well as its potential benefits.

will be beneficial to the following:
School Administration. Mention in 1 or 2 sentences what this beneficiary benefit in the study.
Teachers. Mention in 1 or 2 sentences what this beneficiary benefit in the study.
Students. Mention in 1 or 2 sentences what this beneficiary benefit in the study.
Future Researchers. Mention in 1 or 2 sentences what this beneficiary benefit in the study.
Note:
Researchers can add more beneficiaries depending on the scope of the study.
Scope and Delimitation
The scope of study in the thesis or research paper is contains the explanation of what
information or subject is being analyzed. It is followed by an explanation of the limitation of
the research. Research usually limited in scope by sample size, time and geographic area.
While the delimitation of study is the description of the scope of study. It will explain why
definite aspects of a subject were chosen and why others were excluded. It also mentions the
research method used as well as the certain theories that applied to the data.
Theoretical Lens
This part provides a particular perspective, or lens, through which to examine a topic.
There are many different lenses which may be used to define concepts and explain
phenomena.
This study is anchored on (name of the theory) of (proponent) (year this theory was
established) which (states, asserts, believes, proclaims, ascertains) that (discussing now the
theory to better understand the problem at hand).

Review of Related Literature
This chapter presents a comprehensive and relevant literature from books, journals, and other
valuable sources are provided.
Sources are updated strictly following the range of years (2009-2019) and properly cited.
A clear synthesis that summarizes the entire RRL is presented.

This chapter outlines the research design, participants and sampling, data collection procedure,
data analysis procedure, and ethical consideration.
