Participating and/or leading in-plant safety/risk assessments, job safety analysis (JSA), workplace
hazard/PPE assessments,LT&T, Critical lifts safety reviews, and other significant activities on site.
Provides in field interpretation of safety procedures, programs and standards
Participating and/or leading processes to ensure timely documentation and review of safety-
related procedures, standards, and policies; providing technical support, reference, and guidance
for all operating and support area procedures, standards, and policies;
Coordinating and/or leading investigations, analyses, and evaluations of conditions and events
associated with safety-related incidents, injuries and illnesses,. Facilitate Root-cause Analysis,
determine corrective actions and communicate lesson learned reports
Maintaining tracking and reporting processes to ensure timely documentation of employee and
contractor events, incidents, injuries, and illnesses; ensuring timely entry of injury information and
evaluation results into the appropriate database; ensuring timely submittal of first reports of
injury/incident and incident investigation reports;
Maintaining tracking and recordkeeping processes for safety performance indicators, including
incident reports, investigations, corrective actions, inspections, and hours worked metrics;

ensuring timely submittal of occupational safety-related metrics to the Q-Chem organization and
to Corporate QP and Corporate CPChem, as appropriate;
Collaborating with plant personnel to conduct internal performance evaluations, audits, and self-
assessments of occupational safety processes plantwide and implement continual improvement
efforts; facilitating and/or coordinating required, internal occupational safety audits and regulatory
agency inspections and audits;
Identifying occupational safety improvement opportunities and development and/or enhancement
of processes and systems, incorporating effective occupational safety and risk management
approaches into routine work flows;
Providing appropriate advice, guidance, and counsel to all levels of the Q-Chem organization
regarding occupational safety compliance matters and regulatory decision-making;
Act as the Subject matter Expert(SME) to maintain current and approved safety policies,
procedures standards and guidelines and facilitate multidiscipline team to revise/improve &
implement.
Facilitates the implementation and seek continuous improvement on safety tools e.g. QSAFE,
UCIT, EPS & Action Tracker.
Liase closely with the Designated Site Representative(DSRs), Contracts group and other
customers to collect and maintain manhours for RIR calculation
Job Specifics:
The Safety Specialist works in a team environment specifically focusing on program execution
and continual improvement efforts in facility occupational safety performance. The successful
candidate will report to the Lead Safety Specialist and will provide occupational safety planning,
expertise, support, consultation, and regulatory interpretation assistance to the Q-Chem
organization.
The Safety Specialist serves as the subject matter expert primarily responsible for executing
occupational safety efforts throughout the Q-Chem/Q-Chem II Plant. The Safety Specialist is
responsible for assisting the facility in achieving and maintaining a goal of zero incidents and
unequivocal compliance with Qatar Decree Law No. 30, HSE Regulations and Enforcement
Directorate (DG) standards, and facility-adopted U.S. standards 29 CFR 1904 and 1910 which
provide the basis for the major areas of responsibility.
The job will be filled with the most qualified candidate according to the following criteria and relative
