JOBS RESPONSIBILITIES

To advise the concerned departments in a factory in planning and organizing

measures necessary for the effective control of personal injuries, ill health and
environmental damage.
To check and evaluate the effectiveness of the action taken or proposed to be taken to
pre- vent personal injuries & environmental impacts.
To advise on safety & environmental aspects in all job studies, and to carry out detailed
HI- RA/JHA & Environmental Impact assessments of selected jobs
To provide advice on matters related to carrying out plant safety inspections; To carry
out safety inspections in order to observe the physical conditions of work and the work
practices and procedures followed by workers and to render advice on measures to be
adopted for re- moving the unsafe physical conditions and preventing unsafe actions by
workers;
To render advice on matters related to reporting and investigation of industrial accidents
and diseases
To investigate all fatal and other selected incidents, to investigate the cases of
occupational diseases contracted and reportable dangerous occurrences; to advise on
the maintenance.
Such records as are necessary relatingto accidents, dangerous occurrences and industrial diseases;
 To advise the purchasing and stores department in ensuring high quality and
availability of personal protective equipment.
To promote setting up of safety committees and act as adviser and catalyst to such
committees
To organize in association with the concerned departments campaigns, competitions,
con- tests and other activities which will develop and maintain the interest of the
workers in es- abolishing and maintaining safe conditions of work and procedures;
To design and conduct either independently or in collaboration with the training
department, suitable training and educational programmed for the prevention of personal
injuries. Ensuring 100% induction for employees/ visitors. Frame departmental safety
rules and safe working practices in consultation with the various departments or
authorities;
Updating the management & client with safety & Environmental performance
parameters Advising & developing the systems required for fulfilling facilitating the
certifications pro- cess.
Updating the management on legal requirements & facilitating on fulfilling the same.
To in- tract and understand the client requirements and updating our system on fulfilling
the same.
To improve the safety & environmental performance as per score card. Developing
Safety manual in coordination with concerned department and maintaining the

relevant records.
