BICOL MUSIC INSTRUMENTS

GITGIT

-Gitgit is an instrument with 3 or 4 strings. It has a wooden body. The hair of a person is used as strings
for the bow.

BARIMBAW

-a bamboo slit gong.

GAMBAL INSTRUMENT

-It is a drum whose top is made from a skin of the bayawak or monitor lizard.

PENTATONIC BEAT

-In music, consisting of five tones; especially, pertaining to a pentatonic scale.

SUBING INSTRUMENT

-Subing is a bamboo jaw harp of the Cuyunin people of Palawan islands in western Philippines

KALUTANG

-a set of eight bronze gongs, graduated in size and in tuning, and suspended horizontally on a wooden
stand.

BUNKAKA INSTUMENT

-The bamboo buzzer is known variously as the balingbing or bunkaka (Kalinga) and batiwtiw (Central
Philippines). The bamboo buzzer is a bamboo tube which is open or split at one end. The sound is
produced by striking the split end against the palm of the hand. This instrument is also used to drive
away evil spirits.
