2ND DIVISION SCILYMPICS

This 2nd Division Scilympics aims to provide learners the avenue to exhibit
their acquisition of the 21st Century skills and it is a paramount
responsibility of any learning institution. A venue to show great potential
in mobilizing energy in the students, providing a synergized performance
task to encompass all subject areas to showcase different skills in o ne big
activity is a welcome challenge. Thus, the 2 nd Division Scilympics 2019
begins!

The 10 cluster schools of the Division of Sipalay go on a head-to-head

battle of scientific prowess, technological skills, and wit in the 2 nd Division
Scilympics 2019 competitions last October 4, 2019 at Genaro P. Alvares
Elementary School (GPAES), Sipalay City, Negros Occidental . With the
theme “Critical Thinking and Creativity for Sustainable Development”.

Division Scilympics 2019 was organized by the league of Secondary

Science Teachers and Elementary Science Teachers with the Supervision
of the Education Program Supervisor in Science (EPS) Mrs. Belen A.
Cańete

The celebration aims to promote Science, Technology, Engineering and

Mathematics (STEM) among students through competitive and
collaborative activities, reinforce content and skills that they have learned
inside the classroom and foster camaraderie among fellow students inside
and outside the school.

The Scilympics is composed of several competitions, namely: Mega Quiz

Individual (Grade 4-6 for Elementary and Grade 7-10 and SHS for High
School), Mega Quiz Team (Elementary and Secondary), Science
Investigatory Project (SIP) with categories in Life Science, Physical
Science, Robotics. Science Convergence.

Mr. Danny Clark Uguil, The Education Program Supervisor of the Division
of Negros Occidental graced the event as the Inspirational speaker both
to the student participant and to the science teachers of the Division of
Sipalay City.

Winners from the various events were awarded with certificates and
medals while the over-all cluster champion receives the perpetual trophy
for their understanding performance.
