1.0 Proposed Title

“Effect of Playing Mobile Legends to the Academic Performance of Grade 11 ICT Programming
Student of AMACC Fairview.”
2.0 Areas of Investigation

Playing Mobile Legends is one of the common activities that people do for their leisure time, this
has become more popular among teenager specially students nowadays. The researchers, as fellow
students, are eager to know how playing mobile legends affect the academic performance of the
students. The researcher will investigate not only the effect but also the benefits of playing Mobile
Legends. The research entitled “Effect of Playing Mobile Legends to the Academic Performance of
Grade 11 ICT Programming Student of AMACC Fairview” will be conducted in AMA Computer College
Fairview Branch.

3.0 Reasons of Conducting This Topic

The researcher choose this topic in order to know the effect of playing Mobile Legends to the
academic performance of grade 11 ICT programming students. The researchers also choose this topic
for they want to know if this online game affects the grade of the students, whether they fail or not. This
sought to answer the significant relationship between playing Mobile Legends and academic
performance of the student. This will enable the parents and teachers to know the reasons why
students are engaging their selves in playing Mobile Legends. And also to know the benefits of playing
Mobile Legends to the academic performance of the students.

4.0 Importance of the Study

The importance of this study is to understand the positive and negative effect of playing Mobile
Legends and how it will affect their academic performance. The findings of the study will be able to
provide awareness and expand the knowledge about the topic. This will also provide insights not only
to students, but also to parents and teachers on what will be the possible contribution of playing Mobile
Legends to the academic performance of the player.

5.0 Target Beneficiaries

The target users of this research are students, especially those students who are fond of playing
Mobile Legends. Their parents, and educational institution will be also the target users of this research.
Furthermore, the future researcher about this topic will also be one of the beneficiaries of this research.
6.0 Similarities of the Previous Study

The study scheme is related to the previous research entitled “The Effect of Online Gaming
towards the Academic Performance of Selected Grade 10 Students” by Aaron John Caningco
Robinson. In relation to the proposed study, one of the problem that is tackled in this research is the
relation of playing on-line games and academic performance and to social behaviour of the students.
The result of the study found out that, playing on-line games help the students to engage their selves in
real-world situation, that expand their knowledge and be a smart thinker.
