Sambawan Island is Biliran’s answer to paradise. White sands thriving

marine life and warm blue waters lapping up the tree-lined shore is a must for those

wanting to escape reality. The semi-curved beach with soaring rock formations covered

with green grass as a backdrop create a bubble of fantasy that you are entering another

dimension. Sambawan island has a ctark, mountainous coastline and a spectacular

Alternative Courses of Action

The tourism industry encounters big problems such as waste problems, high

taxation in the industry, increase of mass tourism resulting in straining the

infrastractures and natural resources. Contructions of hotels, recreation and other

facilities often leads to increase sewage pollution. Wastewater has polluted seas and

lakes surrounding tourist attractions. Sewage runoff causes serious damage to coral

reefs. Travelers or travel bloggers proposed a platform to help us educate about this

serious matter. We, as travelers who are enjoying the beauty of nature should also

cooperate in implementing this platform not just in Sambawan Island but also in other

places. Waste pollution is not a joke. We should take action against this.

Recommendation

We recommend to to increase our environmental awareness. We should dump

waste properly because the pollution is also increasing rapidly. The government should

also support platforms that is all about preventing wastewater pollution. We should

discipline ourselves when traveling to contribute in the tourism industry. We, travelers

should apply discipline when traveling. We should support local businesses, respect

private properties, don’t abuse public transport, obey local road rules and parking

regulations and we should also be responsible about waste management.
