Capizeño pianist Clement Acevedo has performed in such venues as Merkin Hall in New York and the

Cultural Center of the Philippines. He won first prize in the 2004 NAMCYA Category C. He has been a
featured soloist with the Metro Manila Concert Orchestra, University of Santo Tomas Symphony, and
James Madison University Symphony. An avid chamber musician, he has performed at the Shenandoah
Bach Festival in Harrisonburg, VA, Staunton Music Festival and the Chopin Symposium in Weston, MA.
Education: BM Piano Performance – University of the Philippines; MM Piano Performance – Temple
University; MM Piano Pedagogy – West Chester University of Pennsylvania; and DMA in Performance,
Pedagogy and Literature from James Madison University. He was the interim piano professor at Eastern
Mennonite University for 2016-2017. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Music and Director of the
Center for Heritage and Indigenous Cultures at the University of San Agustin in Iloilo City.
