EARTH AS TICKING BOMB

Each day of our lives is a normal day for us. We get up in the morning after a goodnight sleep, then we
go to take shower, eat out breakfast and do our daily routine.
But then, have you ever thought, that if one day, you don’t get a chance to get up. What if it’s too late
for us to do and recover the things that we need to when we still have the chance?

Are you aware that the According to Nola Taylor Redd from NASA, Planet Earth doesn't have a birth
certificate to record its formation, which means scientists spent hundreds of years struggling to
determine the age of the planet? So, just how old is Earth?

By dating the rocks in Earth's ever-changing crust, as well as the rocks in Earth's neighbors, such as
the moon and visiting meteorites, scientists have calculated that Earth is 4.54 billion years old, with an
error range of 50 million years.

Imagine, if we were privileged to live that long, how will we look like? Do we still look young and fresh?
Or we will look wrinkled and stressed out haggard?

As of today, the earth’s Temperature is rising and falling, which made the earth surface more heated
up. Burning fossil fuels is causing the planet to heat up, causing weather patterns to change, sea levels
to rise and diseases to spread.

A lot of solutions are being tried by the experts to prolong the Earths life; they came with an idea of
Yearly Earth Hour in 2007. Twelve years in a row.

Earth Hour is an annual environmental campaign that brings attention to the effects of climate change
by asking people to switch of lights at homes and businesses for an hour at 8.30pm (20:30), local time,
usually on the last Saturday of March. It's time to switch off the lights during Earth Hour.
This is not much for us as an individual, but altogether, this will cause big impact for earth as a whole.
Just Imagine how many fossil fuels will be save around the world in one hour. If millions of people and
thousands of business worldwide turn off lights and shut down most electrical appliances to celebrate
sustainability and show their support for strategies that will help solve the problem of global warming,
it will be a great help.
Earth as of today is like a ticking bomb ready to explode anytime soon. Battle for extinction is a must.
Let us do this not just for us but also for our future generations. A single step will be followed by many
more.
It’s never too late. Altogether, we can surpass this battle of extinction. Remember that “We can never
win a war alone.”
