1. Research on the Earth Overshoot Day.

This year, Earth Overshoot Day falls on July 29. At this point in the year, humanity has used
up all of the resources that our planet can replenish in a single year. What's more alarming is that
Earth Overshoot Day has been advancing earlier and earlier since the initiative's beginning in
1986. Last year, the date was a little earlier and fell on August 22. But this year, it coincides with
the same day as it did in 2019. To put it another way, as soon as the Covid limits were published,
we immediately resumed our previous, unsustainable habits.
The notion of Earth Overshoot Day is simple. Consider it an ecological credit or a
biocapacity overdraft. In essence, we are going over the budget that the earth has set for us. Every
year when money is tight, we turn to our credit cards and deplete the environment in the process.
Unfortunately, much like in finance, we are only diminishing future capital. And if we don't
exercise caution, we'll fail.
Our use exceeds the replenishment of the planet's essential resources by a factor of 1.75.
If everyone presently lived as opulently as the UK, the world's population would need 2.7 Earths
to support our consumption.
Earth Overshoot Day is calculated by dividing the global biocapacity (the volume of
resources produced by Earth) by the global ecological footprint (human consumption of these
resources for that year). The amount is then multiplied by the number of days in the year.
While Earth Overshoot Day is based on worldwide consumption, it also incorporates data
particular to individual nations. On May 19, which was in the first half of the year, Overshoot Day
was observed in the UK.

2. What do you think can you do to move the date of Earth overshoot to a later date?
Advocate, be an inspirational speaker to others that we should maintain the sustainability
of our resources in our planet Earth. Lessen the usage of utilities that we usually used in our
routine that contributes to the pollution of our environment. Educate people around you that
never applied baby steps to provide something for the nature, and to sustain resources available
now and not thinking about what future can bring the Earth, so that they knew that their doings
never help themselves and people around to continue living. You can also contribute by planting
trees or volunteering to campaign events that advocates to fight wrong and too much usage of
the environmental natural resources. And lastly, practice the 3Rs, reduce, reuse, recycle in our
daily basis, so we can practice doing it as part of our mindset and routine our lives, and that others
will get inspire too to do the same.

3. Create a Campaign Slogan for your own Environmental Awareness Advocacy.
