2. Motivation
Do you have cartoon characters?
Who is your favorite cartoon character?
Do you want to meet them?
Would you like to hear the story about Phineas and Ferb?
The story is entitled The Outerspace Adventure of Phineas nd Ferb.
(The teacher will narrate the story to the class)
3. Presentation

(The students will answer the questions of the teacher)
B. Interaction
1. Discussion
The teacher will go back to the story and ask these sets of questions to
the students and the students should have to answer based on how they
understand the story.
2. Group Activity
The teacher will group the class into 5.They have to answer as quickly as
they can.Teacher will show a flashcard with a picture doing an action and
they have to answer if the picture is a verb or indicaticating an action or
state of being.The group that answer quickly and correctly will be the
winner.

to understand what how fraction really works.She can bring a plastic knife and a
bread for instance to show how a whole object devided into parts.
B.Interaction
1.Discussion
The teacher will call four representative in the class to go in the front.They will
let them divide the whole bread or the thing that is on the table and ask each of them if
what part of the whole they are holding.Then after that,he/she will ask the class if who
among them wants to try how to divide the object.
2.Group Activity
The teacher will group the class into 4.Each group will have 5 members.They
have to fall in line in front.The first group will be the first to answer the right fraction of
the picture that the teacher will show to them,then they have to write it on the board
followed by the next member of the group up to the last.
3.Generalization
Remember class,to identify fractional parts of a given whole by counting the total
equal parts as the denominator and the shaded part or each part as a denominator.

What is the shape of the wallet? Correct! Can you touch it? Next, what
can you say about the water in the bottle? Do the water and the bottle
have the same shape? Good. Lastly, what can you say about the
balloon? That was a good observation. What is inside the balloon?
Very good. We call all those things as matter. Everybody say “matter”.
A. Interaction

The teacher will discuss about matter and its phases
When we say “matter” It is anything that occupies space and has
weight/mass. (Repeat after me) All the things around us is a matter. Even the
air that we inhale and exhale is also a matter. What do we call the things
around us? Children, there are three phases of matter. These are solid, liquid
and gas.(the he will discuss one by one the solid,liquid and gas and ask his
students questions about it.)
2. Group Activity
Teacher will have to give the students a group activity regarding phases of
matter.She will explain the mechanics of the activity to the class
3. Generalization
Again, what do we call the things around us? What are the three states of
matter?Always remember that “matter” is anything that occupies space
and has weight/mass.
4. Evaluation
Write S if it is solid, L if it is liquid or G if it is gas. Write your answers
inside the box beside each picture.
V. Assignment
Answer pages 24-27 in your book about phases of matter, cut- out the pictures
in page 28 then paste it on your notebook number 5 after identifying if in what
phase of matter it belong.
