Personal Philosophy Statement

My philosophy of early childhood education is developing an approach to educate

children and satisfy them in a social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and intellectual way. It is
important that each child feels respected, valued, nurtured, and safe in the learning
environment. As an educator it is my role to take on the responsibility of each child’s personal
and educational development while they are in my care. My planning and daily care must
include a large range of the children’s interests, cultures, talents and needs so that each child
has the ability to learn in their own ways. It is important for all the educators to work as a team
to have a continuous cycle of observing, documenting, evaluating, and reflecting. As an
educator I am responsible for the children’s behavior as well as making them aware of the
consequences of the actions and choices they decide to make. Each child should be given the
opportunity to learn from their decisions as well as making their own choices, as long as their
safe choices.
I am dedicated to creating a safe, comfortable and energizing educational environment.
It is important that each child can gain the quality of trust within their preschool. The
environment will be supporting atmosphere where each child will have the ability to grow,
succeed, and develop the sense of belonging. I believe that this occurs naturally when
educators show passion and interest for caring for children. All educators should be showing
the children how to be a positive role model who they can fallow by practicing it themselves. I
will always have good communication skills with other educators, parents/guardians, and the
children as well as involving the parents/guardians who want to participate. It is important to
practice what you expect to see from others.
My goals as an early childhood educator are to assist each child considerably in their
early years of schooling to make a positive and smooth transition into kindergarten. Any
concerns staff or parents have about a child’s education I will act on It in a professional,
prompt, respectable manner. I will stride for families to feel they can talk to me whenever
needed. I will continually expand my education and willingly share my knowledge to update
family, staff, and the community. I will remember the good days during bad days to remind
myself that I have an impact on the education of many children.
