Assessment Task 2- Project

ANSWER

Part A

1. The use of mobile tablet devices in Australia.

i. Telsyte Australian Tablet Computer Market Study found that Apple iPad
sales bounced back in the second half of 2017 compared to a year ago (up 6%),
mainly due to a replacement cycle driven by the new budget-friendly 9.7″ iPad
and an overall increase in interest for the iPad Pro series, which has been
positioned as a PC replacement device.
ii. In Australia, tablets are used as a general-purpose internet device. They
are popular for a range of entertainment, research and general browsing
activities, and have a similar use profile to mobile phones and computers. They
are less popular than computers for communication (74 per cent used tablets
compared to 85 per cent using computers). Banking and finance activities are
more popular on mobile phones (49 per cent) and computers (68 per cent) than
tablets (38 per cent). Tablets are more popular than mobile phones for buying,
selling and shopping online (41 per cent used tablets compared with 33 per cent
using mobile phones) but less popular than computers (56 per cent) for these
activities

iii. According to Alice Manners, IAB Australia CEO, growth in mobile

audiences and increases in time spent on a mobile screen, is resulting in a shift
of focus for brands and advertisers. The IAB Australia and Nielsen Mobile
Ratings Report has revealed that for the first time, Australians 18+ spent more
time browsing content or interacting with apps on a tablet device, than on a PC.
Smartphone remains the preferred device overall though, with average time per
person among the active internet population 18+ spent either browsing content
or on applications on a smartphone, at just under 35 hours per person.
Smartphones are the dominant mobile device selected for viewing video / movie
content, recording a unique audience of 8.6 million compared to 4.8 million on a
tablet. However, once engaged, Australians 18+ spent just over two hours
consuming video content on a tablet compared to just over one hour on a
smartphone.

iv. According The Telsyte Australian Tablet Computer Market Study 2018
found sales of Android-based tablets continued to disappoint, falling by 16%
compared to the second half of 2016. Samsung and Lenovo held their positions
as the largest Android tablet vendors in Australia, but other device makers have
turned their focus to Windows 10 tablets and 2-in-1s in place of Android.
v. In International Journal of Mobile Communications (IJMC) by
Grousopoulou, A. (2008), found that Females use tablet for longer periods than
males, with a daily mean of 166.78 minutes vs. 154.26 minutes. They also tend
to use their mobiles to take photos and activate the reminder. However, they do
not deal with many of the devices’ operations. They use their mobiles to
communicate (telephone, SMS, email) mostly with their boy/girlfriend, then
with their friends.

2. list of reference sources that were used in researching the use of mobile tablet
devices.

To searching tablet device information, there are so many webpage’s that serving
tablet device information. But, in my opinion “Technology Decisions”,
“iab.australia”, and ”Telstlye” are the best one.

 Technology Decisions provides busy senior IT professionals with an easy-to-use,

readily available source of information, crucial to gaining valuable insight into
the meeting place between business and technology
 IAB’s focus on content and ad measurement, the Charter outlines four additional
areas of activity: digital ad effectiveness, data and data privacy; standards and
guidelines; and improving the digital value chain.

 Telsyte is Australia’s leading emerging technology analyst firm. Telsyte analysts

4. Google seems to have given up on pushing out its own Android tablets, settling instead
for Chrome OS tablets that can also run Android apps – and that's where the Pixel Slate
comes in.

Easy to use as a tablet, it transforms into a makeshift Chromebook thanks to the

official keyboard accessory you can pick up (it's an optional extra unfortunately, like the
official Pixel stylus).

The combination of Chrome OS and Android actually works pretty well, because you
get the full desktop web experience, plus everything from the Google Play Store as well.
Those Android apps really help when you're offline, for example.

As far as specs go, you can pack this with some really impressive internal components
– though of course you're going to have to pay for them. We'd advise going for the best spec
you can afford
5. Promotional budget analysis
a. promotional activity at 30 may is the best in increase the sales figure. The budget
required for this promo is not too large. indeed the increase in sales did not increase
significantly, but this promotion was suitable for every sale and could be used for
every sale.

b. the discounted price gets a quick response from consumers, this can be seen
enthusiastic consumers at the discount weekend promotion. companies must pay
attention to the price factor, because the size of the price greatly affects the company's
competitive ability and influence consumers to buy products

c. I would prefer a weekend discount, because it is more effective to lure consumers to

buy and encourage buyers to stop by or buy more products.

d. Promotional activities do not always give good results. while holding a promotion
definitely requires a budget. evaluation is needed in order to provide satisfactory sales
results with a budget that is not too large

6. Questionnaire

Status/Profession classification of costumers, so
Revenue we can determine promotions
that are appropriate for
customers

Discount drive customers to purchase.

7. The data are analyzed through the following steps :

The data of comes from the result of collecting the data of
Questionaire. The researcher observed and wrote down every object of research
based on what the researcher has found during research took place. Classification
is the process of classifying all sufficient data based on a category. The
Questionaire used certain criterion based on Best’s (1981) criterion in order to
know what the factor. The criterion is follows:
Number of mistake in
Categories
percentage
0-25 % Excellent
26-50 % Good
51-75 % Weak
76-100 % Very weak

After classification the data, the researcher had to interpret data, gave the meaning
to information, evaluated, concluded, responded appropriately and predicts the
result, identification & evaluation

PART B

a) we can find product and sercvice information through:

- Industry contacts, people and groups contact in the organtitation can help while
doing our job and researching the organisation
- Attending conferences to hear qualified speakers give presentations on current
issues, trends and statistics.
- Joining associations to access member-only content such as newsletters,
workshops and research reports.
- Accessing industry skills councils (ISCs) to learn about the state of your industry,
such as training needs, industry trends and changes in the regulatory environment.
- Industry publications from associations and suppliers often contain valuable
statistics and other information that can be used to maintain knowledge of the
industry and products and services.
b) It is important to inform what payment methods that will offer to the costumers. This
is an important aspect of ensuring in manage the cash flow of business effectively.
The payment methods we choose will also determine the facilities a business will
need. Each payment method has different advantages and disadvantages. No one type
of payment is best. The best payment method depends on the needs of our business.
c) important details of packaging and delivery options :

1. Basic shipping logistics :

2. Which carriers that use :
3. How calculate of shipping rates
4. What charge for customers
5. What we include for shipments
6. How our facilitate returns.

d) important details of refund and exchange policy :

1. How many days a customer has to return the product.
2. How will they receive the refund (credit or replacement)
3. Who pays for shipping to return the product
4. List any products that may be exempt from returns.
e) Customer feedback can be obtained face to face or over the telephone. Some people
prefer to speak directly to a salesperson or customer-service officer to give feedback.
Conversations often produce more detailed information because they are less formal
than questionnaires. When the customer pays for a product or service, the product
should work correctly or the service received should be as promised. Ideally, the
customer will be satisfied. However, problems do occur and should be responded to
immediately. Some large organisations have dedicated complaints staff. Smaller
organisations may have a complaints record that is completed whenever a customer
complains. Service complaints should be recorded with details of the customer, the
problem and the action taken.
