00:02 truly can live in peace and with that I 00:04 introduce our beloved brother Minister 00:06 Louis Farrakhan please receive him 00:09 [Applause] 00:36 in the name of Allah the beneficent the 00:39 merciful I bear witness that there is 00:42 but one God whose proper name is Allah 00:46 and I bear witness that Muhammad is the 00:49 Messenger of Allah I greet all of you my 00:52 dear brothers and sisters with the 00:54 greeting words of peace in the Arabic 00:56 language as-salaam alaikum before I say 01:02 to you what I would like to say this 01:07 afternoon I would like to introduce to 01:12 you my son about four weeks ago 01:21 Allah blessed me to teach a subject on 01:25 relationships 01:28 that has stirred the conscience of a 01:33 nation I took that same subject and went 01:37 to Howard University where over 3,000 01:41 persons were in attendance after hearing 01:46 that lecture some of the students 01:50 actually felt as though they had 01:54 undergone an exorcism meaning that the 02:00 words of Allah were so powerful that one 02:07 student said that the words that we 02:11 spoke broke them all the way down in 02:16 order to stop them to build themselves 02:18 all the way up again in a better way the 02:24 inspiration for that lecture was my son 02:28 I did not say at that time what caused 02:35 that lecture but I said at some point I 02:39 would mention the cause it is privileged 02:45 to me to say that out of adversity comes 02:52 divine wisdom and guidance so if you 02:58 would I'd like you to hear from my son 03:01 Joshua Farrakhan 03:06 [Applause] 03:17 in the name of Allah the beneficent the 03:20 merciful the one God to whom all praise 03:22 is due forever the Lord of the Worlds I 03:25 greet my brothers and sisters in the 03:27 greetings words of peace in paradise 03:29 assalamualaikum brothers and sisters I 03:34 have been on a journey for a long time 03:37 and finally I believe I have arrived a 03:42 long time ago I guess when I was about 03:45 six years old I always wanted my 03:49 family's attention but more than my 03:51 family I wanted my father's and my 03:55 father was never there for me because he 03:58 was always there for you so and my 04:02 misunderstanding of his 04:06 dooty to align his messenger to serve 04:09 the people to wake the people up he left 04:16 his family to get a bigger family 04:20 so I didn't know what to do I didn't 04:22 really understand what he was doing so I 04:26 left my immediate family because I did 04:29 not feel loved at home I did not fail 04:32 failed that uh I was very much needed at 04:35 home so I took the streets as a second 04:39 home and I found people in the streets 04:42 who were having the same problem that I 04:44 was having there was no one at home to 04:47 give them love there was no one at home 04:50 to hold them and talk to them and try to 04:54 understand them so I went back and forth 04:58 throughout the mosque and every man was 05:02 given the allegiance to Allah and they 05:05 weren't really paying attention to their 05:06 children they didn't know the right 05:10 things to say at that time but but pray 05:13 to Allah but Allah is one who answers 05:16 prayers 05:18 so at this point in time my prayers are 05:21 answered I fell on my face while I was 05:26 in the streets I was using cocaine I was 05:29 drinking and partying and I prayed to 05:34 Allah to strengthen me one day so that I 05:37 could be like my father where I could 05:39 line my mind with him his mind so I 05:43 could be one with my father like he was 05:46 and is with his father 06:00 so I went out to Phoenix to try to do it 06:05 on my own to kick the habit of drugs and 06:08 I was not strong enough I prayed to 06:13 Allah to help me and the very man that I 06:18 felt rejected me was the one that came 06:20 and picked me up so he gave me the love 06:25 within two weeks that I've been missing 06:28 all my life so I asked him to send me 06:33 away to get some help the first choice I 06:37 didn't agree with which was an 06:39 institution that Caucasians run in his 06:44 second choice was the Muslim rehab in 06:48 Washington so I wanted to rebuild my 06:53 faith in the nation because it it was to 06:56 me that the nation took me or my father 06:59 away from me so God in His mercy had a 07:05 group of brothers that were Muslims that 07:07 shared they loved to me to bring me back 07:11 so I may stand before you healthy 07:16 drug-free 07:18 [Applause] 07:30 I just want everyone under this mic and 07:35 in the listening audience to don't take 07:40 your family for granted don't take your 07:43 son in your daughter or your uncle or 07:45 your aunt for granted we always talk 07:48 about how much we love the person after 07:50 they're gone God has given us Islam in 07:54 the basis of Islam is love God is love 07:57 so love each other while you're here 08:00 tell each other every day you love 08:02 yourself you love each other 08:04 squeeze your daughter squeeze your son 08:07 don't take them for granted because we 08:09 are the ones sending them out in the 08:11 world for the world to devolve them tell 08:15 them you love them they'll stay home fix 08:18 them breakfast some time in bed help 08:20 them put on a tie they need this and 08:25 this is Islam so I thank you for the few 08:29 words 08:31 I also want to mention the brothers in 08:34 Washington who helped me brother Alfonso 08:37 brother Maurice brother John brother 08:42 Anthony brother Dion and brother 08:45 Courtland I think a lot for these 08:48 brothers because to me they were as 08:49 angels they took me when I was on flat 08:53 on my back and they they showed me so 08:56 much love I said it's just what I've 08:58 been missing all my life they came and 09:01 talked to me night and day 09:02 I said yeah this is group therapy but 09:06 isn't that what we need at home group 09:08 therapy I need to talk to my mother I 09:10 need to talk to my brother I need to 09:13 talk to my family in front of me we need 09:15 to really love and protect and honor one 09:18 another why we are present on this earth 09:22 [Applause] 09:30 so anyone who has a problem with drugs 09:33 let me be your example come forth say no 09:38 to drugs say yes to life because life is 09:41 love and love is living so I bring 09:45 forward to you my father 09:47 spiritually and physically Minister 09:50 Louis Farrakhan 09:52 [Applause] 10:24 in the name of Allah the beneficent the 10:27 merciful 10:28 once again I bear witness that there is 10:31 no god but Allah and that Muhammad is 10:35 His apostle our dear brothers and 10:39 sisters and of course to my son 10:43 Joshua and to all of my family members 10:49 and to each and every one of you who are 10:53 in reality my extended family I thank 10:59 Allah for these words and these 11:02 sentiments coming from my son and from 11:08 Allah first through him to us all in my 11:16 analysis of my son and his condition 11:25 it reflected my own condition and the 11:30 condition of black people as a home I 11:34 want to stop this lecture by briefly 11:39 stating something that is in that 11:42 broadcast a tape of approximately four 11:45 weeks ago as a people we have been 11:51 destroyed in terms of self esteem each 11:57 one of us have been made to feel in the 12:01 American society that we are less than 12:05 what our own nature tells us that we 12:09 really are deep down inside we believe 12:13 we're more than what the world has shown 12:16 us but we don't have a conscious 12:20 knowledge that we are more so we suffer 12:25 from lack of self esteem 12:29 and so if you recall in that lecture I 12:33 said that we as a people relate more to 12:38 things than we do to one another let me 12:45 give you an example I related out of my 12:52 own personal life the fact that I 12:56 misperceived 12:58 my own mother's love I don't know how 13:04 many of you share that thought because 13:08 there is no one more precious to a child 13:11 than its own mother and father mother 13:16 primarily but father secondarily and 13:20 exceedingly strong I thought that I 13:27 needed that kind of cuddling warm 13:32 embrace and the showing of affection 13:37 which I did need but I did not 13:42 understand or perceive the width and the 13:47 breadth and the height and the depth of 13:51 this thing that is called love my mother 13:56 was not the cuddly warm kind of 14:00 embracing mother but she showed her love 14:06 by her magnificent response to duty 14:12 my brother and I never went to bed 14:15 hungry she knew how to take ten cents 14:19 and make a meal for us the house was 14:24 always warm it was always clean there 14:29 was never a time that I went to my draw 14:32 and I didn't find clean shirts clean 14:35 underwear clean socks clean bed clothing 14:39 I never slept on dirty linen I never saw 14:45 my mother in the bed I always woke up 14:51 with my mother 14:52 awake preparing for my brother and me 14:56 and I always went to bed with my mother 15:00 at her sewing machine preparing for my 15:04 brother and me she was a mother that 15:09 always tried to give her sons that which 15:15 would elevate us in the world and that 15:17 was music and culture and good manners 15:23 and home training this was her way of 15:30 demonstrating her supreme love but as a 15:36 child unfortunately I miss preceived and 15:40 in misperceiving 15:42 that magnificent demonstration of love I 15:46 thought that because I was light skinned 15:49 and my mother was very dark that she 15:53 didn't love me as much as she loved my 15:56 brother who was very dark and he felt 15:59 the very opposite that he thought mom 16:02 loved me more because I was light and he 16:05 was dark and I'm sure this goes on and 16:08 so many families and in this 16:12 misperception of love my mother gave me 16:17 the violin at five and a half years old 16:21 and gave my brother the piano at seven 16:25 years of age she took her stick and she 16:32 made my brother and me practice 16:36 well that was fine after a while I grew 16:41 to play the instrument 16:43 very well and by playing the instrument 16:48 very well I learned that people showed 16:53 me love they showed me 16:57 affection not because of me but because 17:02 of the gift of the violin I later 17:07 learned that I could sing that I could 17:09 dance that I could do anything in show 17:12 business and do it exceedingly well and 17:14 it got me very popular among my peers so 17:20 I related more to my voice more to my 17:25 instrument then I related to my mother 17:28 to my brother because my instrument gave 17:32 me the love that I thought I missed my 17:37 voice and my talent gave me the 17:39 admiration that I always sought from my 17:43 mother and so today we have brilliant 17:47 artists who relate more to the canvas 17:51 than they do to their mothers and 17:54 fathers we have brilliant basketball and 17:57 football players who relate more to a 17:59 basketball in a football or more to the 18:02 saxophone in the trumpet or more to 18:05 their boxing gloves or that which makes 18:07 them honored and respected then they do 18:11 to other human beings 18:14 and because of this misperceived love 18:19 and miss perceiving reality we need to 18:25 restructure our lives so I being a 18:32 musician practice 8 9 10 hours a day 18:37 think about that a young boy 11 and 12 18:42 years old who went to school and did my 18:46 homework and then got my instrument and 18:49 played into the night while others were 18:53 playing football and basketball and 18:56 baseball I had no time for foolishness I 18:59 had a mission in life which was to 19:02 become a master of my art and so I gave 19:07 up the world for my art now that is a 19:12 sacrifice but what was the motivation 19:15 for that sacrifice it was to lift myself 19:19 above a nonentity and most black people 19:25 have a desire to lift themselves above 19:29 being a nonentity so even if it's 19:33 selling drugs we want to be the best at 19:35 it if it's drinking whiskey we want to 19:38 show that we can drink more than anybody 19:41 else but we need something to show us 19:44 that we are in fact somebody and we do 19:50 it in such a sick manner that all of our 19:53 friendships all of our relationships are 19:57 tainted you have your best friend but 20:01 he's not your best friend because he's 20:04 your best friend he's your best friend 20:06 because you have a need and he supplies 20:09 that need but when that need changes you 20:13 drop that friend like a hot potato you 20:17 marry one another but you marry not 20:20 really because you love you're married 20:22 because you have a need 20:24 and that person supplies that nee but 20:28 when the need is gone the friendship is 20:30 broken we follow God and we believe in 20:35 God because we believe he is able to 20:38 supply all our wants all our needs and 20:42 ears but when a trial comes because of 20:46 our faith in God and God doesn't do by 20:50 us what we think God should do then we 20:53 turn our back on God and say that God 20:56 doesn't exist we have a need for a 20:59 friend and God takes the friend and 21:02 death overtakes the friend and we think 21:05 that God has done us something wrong 21:07 when he gave life and he has the right 21:11 to take back what he gave but we begin 21:14 to disbelieve in God because God is not 21:18 really God he's a convenient overcoat we 21:21 put him on when we need him and we take 21:24 him off when we don't feel we need him 21:26 anymore we pray all praise is due to 21:31 Allah we pray because we're in trouble 21:36 not because we're grateful to God and 21:39 when God answers us we don't feel a need 21:42 to pray anymore we are a people whose 21:46 needs are so great that we form 21:50 relationships based upon need and it 21:53 never gets to grow into love where it is 21:57 unconditional 21:58 we don't have an unconditional 22:01 relationship with one another that I'm 22:04 your friend whether you have money or 22:06 don't have it I'm your friend whether 22:09 you praise me or you condemn me I love 22:12 your regardless of your weakness or your 22:15 strength see we we have conditions in 22:18 our friendships we have conditions in 22:20 our relationship with everyone even with 22:24 God and because of the conditions in our 22:27 place on my mother's love who loved me 22:30 unconditionally I didn't understand 22:34 until I was a grown man the magnitude of 22:38 her love and now that she is no longer 22:40 with us 22:41 I see deeper now and it is sad but it is 22:45 true that you can always see better 22:49 after the veil of flesh and blood has 22:53 been removed and so my dear brothers and 22:57 sisters and to my son and my family your 23:03 father 23:04 related to God because there was in fact 23:09 a need a need to be recognized as a 23:14 human being so your sacrifice you give 23:18 your all to the thing that makes you 23:20 recognized you deny your family but you 23:23 put a noble name on it you say you're 23:27 serving God when in reality deep down 23:30 inside you're serving a need that you 23:33 have a need to be recognized a need to 23:36 be loved a need to be wanted a need to 23:39 be admired a need to be praised if you 23:43 will a need to be honored but as we 23:47 mature in life we begin to see wait a 23:51 minute we are not really grown until we 23:56 outgrow these immature needs we're not 24:02 really mature until we do things from 24:05 the proper and right motivation good is 24:10 not always what it appears to be good is 24:13 only good when it comes from a pure 24:16 motivation if I say I love you as a 24:20 friend but it's just a word to get you 24:23 to give me something if I say I'm your 24:27 buddy but I am good to you because I 24:31 really want something from you then my 24:34 motive is not pure therefore no matter 24:37 how good the act appears to be it is not 24:41 good because it does not come from a 24:44 good and pure motivation 24:46 do you follow what I'm saying good is 24:50 only good when at the root of that 24:53 goodness is a good motivation so the 24:56 holy quran admonishes us do no favor 25:00 speaking game don't don't be good to 25:05 people because you seek some reward 25:08 either from God or from others but do 25:11 good because it's good to do good from 25:14 the good motivation but if we're only 25:17 gonna be friends because we can do 25:20 something for you or you think your boy 25:23 I got some money so you suck up to him 25:27 or crawl up to him and inflate the ego 25:32 because you want something you'll 25:36 establish a friendship and make the 25:38 person think you really his best friend 25:41 until he don't give you anything anymore 25:44 I love the Honorable Elijah Muhammad and 25:48 I love his teacher master fraud Muhammad 25:53 though I never met Master fahrrad 25:56 Mohamed I met the Honorable Elijah 25:59 Muhammad and was given so much by this 26:03 man I loved him I loved him but the love 26:07 was tainted 26:11 what do I mean by that I needed a father 26:15 I needed a teacher I needed a friend I 26:21 needed someone who would make something 26:25 out of me and the Honorable Elijah 26:28 Muhammad fulfilled my need he took me 26:33 from the world of music and he told me 26:37 that my spiritual gift was so much 26:41 greater than my musical gifts that he 26:44 wanted me to put my music aside to 26:47 develop myself spiritually that I might 26:50 one day be able to stand before the 26:53 world and deliver the Word of God in a 26:56 unique and masterful way the Honorable 27:00 Elijah Muhammad when he first met me I 27:02 mocked his speech and he looked up at me 27:07 and said brother don't laugh at the way 27:13 I say don't mock the way I speak but you 27:18 take the words that I speak and put it 27:22 in that fine language you know only try 27:26 and understand what I'm saying the 27:30 Honorable Elijah Muhammad was the father 27:33 that I never had 27:34 he was the mother that my mother wanted 27:38 to be and did her best to be but he took 27:42 the nurturing beyond the point of my 27:45 mother because my mother did not have 27:47 the knowledge that the Honorable Elijah 27:49 Muhammad had the Honorable Elijah 27:52 Muhammad was the friend that I never had 27:55 he was the brother that I never had he 27:58 was everything that I never had he was 28:02 all things to me so I saw God in this 28:05 man so I related to him in season out of 28:09 season it made no difference to me 28:12 because I was born 28:15 I was born with a gift to be loyal to 28:19 those who I commit myself to do you 28:23 understand though the love was tainted 28:26 because it was based upon a need but all 28:29 praise is due to Allah I outgrew the 28:32 need I want to talk to you just give me 28:37 a little of your time what do you mean 28:44 you outgrew the need when you grow into 28:49 God you grow above one of everything 28:56 that is beside him you don't seek the 29:00 favor of a friend or a government you 29:04 don't bow down to nothing or no one 29:06 because you recognize this no god but 29:09 Allah God the creator of the heavens and 29:13 earth so your allegiance is to God he is 29:17 the satisfier of all need and you have a 29:19 right to love him whether he satisfies 29:22 your need or deprives you of it you know 29:26 that he is your patron and you know that 29:29 He desires the best for you but he will 29:31 never bring the best out of you if he 29:34 gives you all that you need when you 29:37 need it or when you want it he deprives 29:39 you a face to build character in you 29:44 he allows you to come to adversity to 29:48 force you to rely on him and to know 29:51 that he is ever present 29:53 but you would never call on him if he 29:55 didn't give you adversity and trial and 29:58 tribulation to come through so God who 30:01 is the best knows has ordained struggle 30:06 for all human beings when I was a child 30:09 I speak as a child I thought as a child 30:13 because I perceived and understood as a 30:17 child but now that I am maturing and 30:21 growing up into manhood then I must put 30:25 away childish things 30:27 it is childish to preach the Word of God 30:30 for the praise of men it is childish to 30:33 preach the Word of God for some favor 30:36 for some money or for some material 30:40 thing it is childish to preach the Word 30:43 of God seeking the honor and praise of 30:46 the people because it is these things 30:49 that cause men and women to fall from 30:52 the path of God but when your only need 30:55 is to please God when your only desire 30:59 is to please your Creator then you're 31:02 free from want of everything beside him 31:05 and whatever he brings in your life 31:07 you're satisfied 31:08 huh all praise is due to Allah I was 31:13 with the Honorable Elijah Muhammad one 31:15 day and some of you in our listening 31:19 audience and some of you here at the 31:21 final call building may have heard the 31:24 Honorable Elijah Muhammad say words like 31:26 this 31:27 one day in 1961 I was sitting at his 31:31 dining room table at 48:47 South 31:34 Woodlawn Avenue and he said to us at 31:38 that table you are with me now because I 31:42 have something to give you 31:45 but will you be with me when I have 31:49 nothing to give you in the quiet of my 31:54 mind I said and when will that be if we 31:59 seek truth there's never a time that I 32:03 will be with you their apostle and you 32:06 will not have truth to give but he knew 32:08 better than we knew I didn't have the 32:11 courage to say what I was thinking so I 32:14 shut up 32:14 but I heard others at the table talk 32:17 they said all the Apostles we will with 32:21 you will always be with you 32:28 at another time later this is the 32:31 sixties now but in the 70s 32:34 after a saviours day convention we sat 32:37 at the Honorable Elijah Muhammad table 32:39 again at 48:47 South Woodland Avenue and 32:42 he said these words to us all of you 32:47 will leave me when he said that quiet 32:54 came over the table and someone said not 32:59 idea fossil and another set you mean all 33:05 of us I was thinking that but I didn't 33:10 speak it somebody else said you mean all 33:13 of us are gonna leave you and he said 33:16 these words he said well the few that 33:19 remained 33:20 they'll be so weak it will look as 33:25 though all of you have left me silence 33:29 fell over the table for it looked like 33:31 maybe minutes and then he broke the 33:34 silence and said but you all will return 33:42 but you all will return follow me now 33:50 later in October of 1974 I was with him 33:58 in his bedroom in the palace and he sat 34:03 on his bed talking about the marriage of 34:08 my daughters to his grandson and his 34:13 nephew 34:15 I won't go into the details of what he 34:18 said there but he said this the time is 34:24 coming when my name is mentioned they 34:30 will say oh that man his teaching was 34:35 good for that time but it's not good for 34:40 this very sad expression on his face but 34:47 he told me don't you change the 34:50 teachings while I'm gone he said what 34:55 I've given you is a wake-up message he 34:59 characterized his message as a wake-up 35:02 message how in the world can you change 35:05 a wake-up message when you've got so 35:07 many in the nation that are fast asleep 35:11 you call his wake-up message darkness 35:15 just as he said you would and then in 35:18 the darkness most of you that have 35:21 condemned his word is darkness you've 35:24 gone back to sleep in that darkness I 35:29 want you to listen to his words in 1974 35:35 when he gave his last speech to us 35:39 during the saviours day convention he 35:43 said for 40 years I have taught you that 35:46 God is a man he never backed up from 35:50 what he talks regardless to what you 35:53 think about it or regardless to what the 35:56 world thinks about it he stood on that 36:00 ground and he never backed up he said I 36:04 have taught you of the Caucasian people 36:07 see then he gave the parable of the 36:12 prodigal son and in the light of my 36:15 son's words and in the light of my 36:18 daughter's presence in my family's 36:21 presence and in the light of the 36:23 presence of the 36:24 family of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad 36:27 some of whom may be listening to this 36:29 very broadcast and in the light of the 36:31 presence of the followers of the 36:33 Honorable Elijah Muhammad prior to 1975 36:37 in that last speech he gave us a picture 36:41 of the prodigal son because he knew as 36:45 he had said in 61 you are with me 36:49 because I have something to give you but 36:53 when I have nothing to give you will you 36:56 still be with me I didn't know what he 37:00 meant but not having something to give 37:03 you means when I'm no longer present and 37:08 it was not a year after he was gone from 37:14 us no matter what he had done for us we 37:18 pulled his picture down off the walls in 37:21 the schools that he built and sacrificed 37:24 to bury pull this picture down from the 37:27 home throwing him down 37:30 turn off the uniforms that he designed 37:34 for the women throwing them in the 37:36 garbage pail feeling no allegiance to a 37:40 man who had given his life to see the 37:43 black man and woman stood up but because 37:46 he was gone and he was not able to give 37:51 us anything at that moment as we thought 37:54 then we gave him up like an old pair of 37:57 shoes that we have used until we used it 38:01 up now we're looking for the next thing 38:03 to use but he knew that we were like 38:07 prodigal children I'm sorry that we only 38:11 have one more minute on the broadcast 38:13 but I got quite a few more minutes at 38:16 the final call building so those of you 38:24 so those of you who had the good sense 38:26 to come out today and those of you who I 38:30 in your cars driving around there's 38:32 still room here so you better come on 38:34 because I'm talking to you today I'm 38:37 talking to you and your mama I'm talking 38:40 to you and your daddy I'm talking to the 38:42 family I'm talking I'm not playing that 38:44 doesn't but I'm just talking to us as a 38:48 family to us as a people I want us to 38:51 straighten up our relationships and so 38:54 those of you who want the tape of 38:56 today's lecture you calls it right now 38:58 nine nine four five seven seven five 39:01 that's nine nine four five seven seven 39:04 five and the beef goes off 39:14 now my brothers and sisters when the 39:19 Honorable Elijah Muhammad used the 39:22 parable of the prodigal son in his final 39:26 speech to us that parable is one that we 39:30 need to take under advisement and 39:33 consideration when I talked to my son 39:39 and it seemed as though after we had 39:43 gone all the way to the depth to the 39:46 bottomless pit of hell trying to bring 39:50 him back to himself 39:53 I had just about given up on him 39:59 but before I gave up on him I wanted to 40:03 say a few words to him and I talked to 40:08 him about three sons I talked to him 40:13 about Noah's son I talked to him about 40:19 David's son and I talked to him about 40:24 the prodigal son Noah's son got wasted 40:32 he rebelled against his father because 40:36 when God calls a man to do something for 40:42 him God demands on us unlike anybody 40:47 else's demands you'll never understand 40:51 this until you have a relationship with 40:54 God with God it ain't hot it's all or 40:59 nothing at all Paul on Noah to preach he 41:04 didn't call on Noah to have this Noah 41:08 preached for 150 years think about that 41:15 and God told the man to do something 41:19 that made him mocked and scorned 41:22 now think about coming up in Noah's 41:25 house and Noah preaching every time you 41:29 see him he's preaching 150 years people 41:33 living and dying this man still preach 41:36 trying to get people to soldier for God 41:40 finally God tells them born and build an 41:44 ark under my sight and tells them how to 41:48 build it here they are on dry land and a 41:51 man building a boat 41:55 and the people walk mind said look at 41:57 that stupid north 42:00 crazy Oh building him a boat and ain't 42:06 no water nowhere nearby imagine his 42:09 children having to go to school and have 42:13 somebody telling man your stupid father 42:16 down there building some or some boat a 42:20 name no water 42:22 what kind of nut do you have as a father 42:25 your father is enough your father is not 42:31 I imagine 42:33 Noah's children had to Rumble all the 42:36 time and after they got finished 42:39 rumbling they would come home crumbling 42:42 down what's wrong with that every time 42:47 we see daddy building on some up telling 42:51 us one day it's gonna rain pretty soon 42:55 the children begin to wonder about their 42:57 father 42:58 is he crazy see but for every action 43:02 there is an equal and opposite reaction 43:06 so when a man give his all to God and 43:10 the children misperceived his allegiance 43:13 to God they go the opposite way in 43:17 defiance of that mother or that father 43:19 just say well if you don't give your 43:21 whole life to this god damn it and I'm 43:26 gonna do nothing see any for the very 43:30 opposite didn't become an enemy to the 43:33 way of their father and the way of God 43:36 Noah's son was like that in the Quran 43:42 Noah's son wouldn't going off with his 43:47 father the father said son come in the 43:50 up with me 43:51 he said no I'd be take myself to the 43:54 mountain for refuge 43:57 it started to ring he say I'm going to 44:00 the top of the monkey the boy did not 44:02 know that the rain was gonna cover the 44:05 mouth see he didn't believe in his 44:10 father he believed that that was his 44:13 father but he didn't believe in his 44:17 father see the big difference 44:21 to be from the loins of a man that ain't 44:23 worth a damn not a man from God don't 44:28 tell that man that you my father he 44:32 can't even see you as a child until you 44:35 see him for what a year he's not just 44:38 your father he's your leader your 44:41 teacher and your guide and until you 44:44 accept him until you accept him in his 44:51 divine role he cannot feel you in that 44:56 cheap role as just a biological father 45:01 so he'll give you what he can a fool of 45:06 clothing and shelter but the love you 45:10 can't get that in rebellion none of my 45:16 children can have my love if they repel 45:21 against the mission of the Honorable 45:23 Elijah Muhammad and they cannot love me 45:31 in rebellion though I am their father 45:34 and they are my children when you repel 45:37 against the mission then hatred comes up 45:40 in the father for the son just like 45:43 hatred can come up in the Sun for the 45:45 father because of the mission do you 45:49 hear what I'm saying 45:52 this ain't no common father-son stuff 45:56 this is God interfering with these kind 46:02 of relationships Jesus they said to 46:09 Jesus your mother and your brother are 46:12 without and they seek you he said my 46:17 mother and my brother I in the temple 46:21 with me I know you my mother but if 46:30 you're not in this teaching in this 46:35 discipline in this submission to God as 46:39 I am then I deny not that you are my 46:42 physical mother but I cannot go to you 46:50 this Jesus the same Jesus that you say 46:56 you love 46:59 I want to read you something to make you 47:04 understand exactly what I'm talking 47:06 about it is not stuff come to me and 47:15 hate knowledge father and mother and 47:19 wife and children and brethren and 47:24 sisters yay and his own life also he 47:29 cannot be my disciple this is the Book 47:33 of Luke the 14th chapter the 26th verse 47:39 and what was Jesus saying was he 47:41 teaching hate no he didn't mean you 47:45 should hate your mother or hate your 47:47 father but he was saying if you love 47:51 your mother your father your sister your 47:53 brother your own desires over being a 47:56 follower of the truth and the 47:59 righteousness of him then you couldn't 48:01 be his disciple because when you become 48:04 a disciple of God he tests you by your 48:09 man he tests you by the thing that you 48:12 love the most 48:15 see so God said to Abraham if you love 48:19 me Abraham phone and kill your son I 48:23 wanna know do you love anything more 48:26 then you love me I'm gonna ask you to 48:29 give up your phone god please you don't 48:39 come to God and no look silly River this 48:41 way I'm with you god and you think god 48:44 is not gonna try your love and your 48:47 faith the quran said and do men think 48:51 that they will say we believe and will 48:54 not be tried while others were tried 48:56 before you jesus was supposed to be his 48:59 beloved but look at what he put Jesus 49:01 through so Noah's son blew it got wiped 49:12 out 49:14 David had a son that was jealous of his 49:19 father 49:23 why are you jealous of your father son 49:27 my father got on in love and respect and 49:32 that's what I want well then follow your 49:35 father obey your father and it will come 49:41 to you as it came to him but Absalom 49:46 didn't want to follow his father he 49:49 wanted to fight his father think about 49:56 his father David having wives and the 50:01 son laying with his father's wives in 50:05 the presence of all Israel see that's 50:08 striking at your father where you can 50:12 hurt him saying I'm better look at me 50:18 I'm younger I'm stronger I'm more 50:23 beautiful 50:25 come with me so we both can earn the 50:31 displeasure of my father see that is the 50:36 equal and opposite reaction but in spite 50:40 of that David loved the boy and told his 50:45 captain Joab don't hurt him don't kill 50:51 him 50:51 we go in the wall but don't kill him 50:55 when the Sun made war on the father 51:01 and the father soldier captured him and 51:06 killed him 51:09 and all night you could hear david in 51:12 the tent crying crying crying my son my 51:18 son my son I told my son of these 51:26 no-good sons 51:31 and I saw him listening I saw his eyes 51:36 get big like he was hearing me for the 51:40 first time I said son these are the sons 51:46 that failed you make it even though your 52:05 children disappoints you brothers and 52:06 sisters never talk to them like you want 52:10 to drive them to destruction always 52:13 intrigued them always hold out a way for 52:17 the son for the daughter to come back 52:21 are you listening now I want to read you 52:26 a couple more powers and we can go home 52:40 and through near unto Jesus all the 52:43 publicans and the sinners to hear him 52:47 Pharisees and the scribes murmured 52:49 saying this man receives sinners and 52:53 eats with them some of the el rukns came 53:01 and i sat with them 53:06 I stood chief Malik up at a saviors 53:15 danger and was severely criticized by 53:21 members of the Black Press for even 53:25 allowing him in the meeting and then 53:27 honoring him by standing him up inside I 53:33 laughed you know why if Jesus could sit 53:39 down with the publicans and the sinners 53:43 why because his job was to change them 53:46 from a negative into a positive 53:48 direction I look at the brother they 53:51 called Jeff fourth he's one of the most 53:54 majestic and powerful young blacks in 53:58 this country and in the world his 54:01 talents have been used negatively but 54:04 suppose he were turned in a positive 54:07 direction what kind of leadership would 54:11 black folk have here's a man that can 54:13 discipline black men and can lead them 54:18 from a prison cell you can't tell me 54:22 that man don't have leadership ability 54:24 he's a born leader 54:32 the white man is not trying to turn him 54:35 around the white man is so afraid of him 54:41 that they are trying their very best to 54:44 put him away for the rest of his natural 54:47 life that they'll never be able to be 54:50 bothered by him again 54:52 he's a Nelson Mandela in our time put 54:57 him away and leave him there Geronimo 55:03 Pratt won at the white man train but he 55:07 became a masterful soldier and they 55:11 didn't want him as a revolutionary on 55:13 the street so they trumped up charges 55:15 and Geronimo Pratt is still in prison 55:18 why cuz the white man don't care nothin 55:20 about your talent right he's not trying 55:24 to reform you and make you better but 55:27 Jesus was trying to reform sinners so he 55:31 was always seen among the sinners 55:33 because that's where he is what work was 55:35 some of these preachers they ain't got 55:38 no time for the drug and they don't have 55:41 no time for the prostitute they don't 55:44 have no time for the lowlife what are 55:46 you what are you talking about 55:48 and yet you're gonna say you with Jesus 55:51 Mary Magdalene was a prostitute but 55:55 Jesus had time for her don't fault me 55:59 because I got time right put a low light 56:02 that's my work 56:11 so when they started getting on jesus's 56:14 case Jesus said what man of you having a 56:18 hundred sheep if he lose one of them 56:21 does not leave the ninety and nine in 56:24 the wilderness and go after that which 56:26 is lost until he find it and when he had 56:30 found it he laid it on his shoulders 56:32 rejoicing and when he cometh homie call 56:36 it together his friends and neighbors 56:39 saying unto them rejoice with me I have 56:44 found my sheep which was lost and I say 56:48 unto you that likewise joy shall be in 56:52 heaven over one sinner that repenteth 56:58 more than over ninety and nine just 57:01 persons which need no repentance 57:08 that's a powerful heavy parable I get to 57:14 the meeting in a second he the what 57:17 woman having ten pieces of silver if she 57:21 lose one piece does not light a candle 57:26 and sweep the house and seek diligently 57:31 till she find 57:34 how many of you have lost something 57:36 you've got some money that's on the 57:38 dresser but a dollar fell somewhere ten 57:42 dollars fell somewhere you know that the 57:45 money on the dresser is there you're not 57:48 worried about what there you turn on the 57:52 lights get your flashlight go up under 57:55 the bed 57:56 turning the covers over and when you 57:58 find the ten dollars that you look 58:03 [Music] 58:03 [Applause] 58:08 this joy in this joy over not the thing 58:13 that you got on the dresser but the one 58:16 that you thought got away now we come to 58:24 another parable the Jesus he said a 58:28 certain man had two sons and the younger 58:32 of them said to the father father give 58:37 me the portion of goods that falleth to 58:39 me and he divided unto them his living 58:46 and not many days after the younger son 58:49 gathered all together and took his 58:52 journey into a far country and there 58:55 wasted his substance with riotous living 59:03 and when he had spent all there arose a 59:08 mighty famine in that land and he began 59:11 to be in want and he went and joined 59:14 himself to a citizen of that country and 59:17 he sent him into his fields to feed the 59:21 swine and he would have filled his belly 59:25 with the husks that the swine did eat 59:28 and no man gave unto him and when he 59:33 came to himself he said how many hired 59:36 servants of my father's have bread 59:40 enough and to spare and I perish with 59:48 hunger so he said I will arise and go to 60:00 my father 60:02 and I will say unto my father father I 60:08 have sinned 60:12 and AM no more worthy to be called your 60:15 son 60:16 make me as one of your hired servants 60:22 isn't that something and so he arose and 60:27 came to his father and he said unto him 60:33 father I have sinned now he's thinking 60:37 about what are you gonna say to dad now 60:40 he's talking to dad 60:42 so he's kiddin me to get he says father 60:44 I sin and I'm really not worthy to be 60:49 your son now look at this but the father 60:59 saw him thank you 61:03 he was a long way off and the father had 61:10 compassion and ran and fell on his neck 61:12 and kissed him and then the son said 61:17 father I've sinned I'd rather just be a 61:21 hired servant in your house don't make 61:23 me anything but the father said to his 61:27 servants bring forth the best robe and 61:30 put it on him put a ring on his hand and 61:34 put shoes on his feet and bring the 61:40 fatted calf and kill it and let us eat 61:43 and be merry 61:45 but this my son was dead and is alive 61:50 again he was lost 61:56 and is found and they began to be 62:00 married but now as they were making 62:06 merry over the son that was lost and now 62:10 found dead and now alive their elder 62:14 brother was in the field and as he came 62:21 he heard all the noise and the merriment 62:25 he heard the music and the dancing so he 62:28 called one of the servants inwards and 62:31 Sam what's happening what's going on 62:34 what's the party all about and so they 62:38 said your brother is coming 62:41 and your father have killed the fatted 62:44 calf because he has received him safe 62:48 and sound now the elder brother was 62:51 angry and would not even go in to the 62:55 party think over that so the father came 63:00 out to the elder brother and entreated 63:03 him see the father still after the 63:05 children entreating him and he said to 63:09 his father look listen to his words lo 63:13 these many years do I serve you these 63:22 many years do I serve you 63:29 and neither transgressed I at any time 63:33 your commandment and yet you never gave 63:38 me a kid that's a baby goat that I might 63:43 make merry with my friends your son was 63:50 come which devoured your living and 63:54 slept with harlots you killed for him 63:58 the fatted calf and he said unto Him son 64:03 you are ever with me and all that I have 64:09 is yours 64:12 but it was meat that we should make 64:16 merry and be glad for this that brother 64:20 was dead and is alive again and was lost 64:25 and is found 64:30 now let's tie this up and conclude 64:40 do you see any similarity in those 64:44 parables to your own life as a people Africa with the name with the language 00:08 with the culture with the history with 00:12 the religion with a God with knowledge 00:17 and we were brought on a westerly course 00:24 and we came into a strange land is that 00:31 right 00:31 a slave and we wasted a substance on 00:43 riotous living 00:46 and we became feeders of swine 01:01 brother sisters 01:04 God says in the Old Testament in the ADA 01:08 in Ezekiel I for my lost sheep and I 01:20 will bring it again and settle it on the 01:24 mountains of Israel I the Lord will do 01:30 this isn't that something 01:33 God says again in Ezekiel in the parable 01:37 of the dry bones in the valley these 01:41 were the people of God but they were dry 01:44 and scattered in a valley and nobody 01:47 would minister unto these bones so the 01:51 son of man asked a question or the 01:54 question was asked can these bones live 01:57 and the son of man said Lord only found 02:01 North he said was gone and prophesy unto 02:04 the bones and say to them hear the word 02:07 of the Lord and when he prophesied unto 02:10 the bones there was a great chicken in 02:12 the valley and the bones began to come 02:17 together and they stood up but there was 02:19 no breath in the bones so he went back 02:22 to the God and said there standing but 02:26 there's no breath in there he said go 02:28 and prophesy unto the winds and tell 02:31 them to blow on these slain of God and 02:34 when the winds blew on the bones it said 02:38 they stood up and exceedingly crate 02:46 not again and when they stood up an 02:52 exceedingly great army the scripture 02:55 says after they have come up out of 02:59 their graves then shall they know that 03:03 I've the Lord and God and beside me 03:07 there is no thing I want you to think of 03:12 these beautiful words and the powerful 03:15 of Jesus now coming right home to you 03:18 first of all Elijah Muhammad is the 03:24 first black man to come to the prodigal 03:28 people prodigal means wasteful we have 03:32 wasted all of our money in riotous 03:35 living whatever money you get the white 03:39 man takes it right back from you because 03:41 you party harder don't you brother come 03:44 on you running around with pockets full 03:48 of dope money and after you've got it 03:52 it's gone because you don't really know 03:55 what to do with you spend it up in what 03:59 riotous living it's a riot the way you 04:03 live 04:07 [Music] 04:08 you know all your money you just throw 04:15 it away 04:16 silly right now God produce a famine in 04:21 the land and nobody would give him 04:25 anything now you see the white man he 04:26 didn't give it nothing Siang guy no job 04:29 for you then I'm firing you off the job 04:32 you've got 04:38 yeah I'm cutting back on social security 04:41 and on welfare cutting back on 04:44 entitlement program so you Nick Rose 04:46 that used to go to school I ain't even 04:48 gonna let you in school no more less you 04:49 got some money so the man got down so 04:54 low he said man even the highest 05:00 servants in my daddy's house do better 05:02 than this I think I'm gonna get up and 05:06 go to my father 05:08 meaning you're gonna come back to God 05:12 now the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was 05:15 raised up by God to give us substance 05:20 again for the first time in 400 years we 05:25 had a man to pour oil in a gaping wound 05:29 in our head denied if any of you who can 05:35 you call the teachings of Elijah 05:38 Muhammad darkness deny that without his 05:43 teaching you wouldn't be nothing even 05:47 where you are today 05:54 listen without what Elijah Muhammad put 05:59 in the head of Malcolm that Malcolm put 06:02 in the head of black people he wouldn't 06:05 be nothing 06:08 and even some of you have become such 06:11 good Muslims today if it was not for the 06:15 teachings of Elijah Muhammad 06:17 you couldn't even rise in the Muslim 06:20 communities but because he taught you 06:23 for yourself and to be independent and 06:28 gave you a root in yourself wherever you 06:32 go you rise to become a leader Elijah 06:38 Muhammad gave you but more than what you 06:44 receive something of that but when he 06:56 departed from us see now we took what he 07:02 gave us and spin it up in riotous living 07:09 I'm talking about Muslims 07:13 you did just what the prodigal son did 07:17 you joined yourself on to a citizen you 07:23 wasn't trying to be an American citizen 07:25 when Elijah Muhammad was here you wanted 07:29 to build a nation of your own when who 07:32 was here but now you wrapping yourself 07:34 up in the American flag you want to be a 07:39 citizen now Thomas a real citizen treat 07:42 you send you on the front line in 07:49 Lebanon what the Lebanese do to you 07:56 Vietnam what the Vietnamese do to you 07:59 send you down into Grenada what those 08:02 people in the Caribbean bit to you 08:04 nothing you're just a flunky for the 08:08 white man look at you now freak this tiles your clothes 08:46 see he puts you on job - jeez that are 08:52 so tight that what nature put in a place 08:56 that it could easily be hidden is now 08:58 exposed to the public view talk to me 09:02 you got pants on so tight if you sneeze 09:09 [Music] 09:12 see from here to eternity 09:20 now you've got these low-cut dresses 09:24 every time a baby see you he cries like 09:26 his feet 09:29 [Applause] 09:37 doing a swap the white man's appetite 09:44 for filth is insatiable and he's made a 09:49 peep out of you 09:54 that's right somebody stand up and talk 09:58 about God and rights until you and you 10:00 got no time you're checking your watch 10:03 okay back on I didn't give you enough 10:05 time I'm doing dances that a dog 10:15 wouldn't do it you got time to boogie 10:23 [Applause] 10:37 I learned their dance when I was going 10:39 after my son 10:41 [Applause] 10:58 you know laughter is good for you 11:02 but it's very real we've become swine I 11:09 went to see seeing Eddie Murphy concert 11:15 he had visited my home we had dinner 11:18 together I didn't want Eddie to think 11:22 that I wouldn't go see him so I went my 11:29 son was trying to tell me dad 11:35 I think anybody's one of the most 11:42 brilliant comedians in the world today 11:46 beautiful brother but I was listening to 11:50 the jokes and I think my hair was 11:54 standing straight up and I took my time 11:59 and I look at the people and they were 12:03 all in and happy the more filthy the 12:06 jokes got the more they left oh they 12:09 loved it more more MORE see feeding 12:13 swine 12:20 got one of the most beautiful voices you 12:37 [Music] 12:46 [Music] 12:56 don't want nobody to lift you up 13:00 you want people to keep you low down and 13:03 funky you like it like that because 13:07 you're not only feeding swine you've 13:10 eaten it and become what you eat 13:23 to get away from Elijah but Elijah 13:27 Muhammad knew all of us was gonna come 13:30 back but you were on your way and I see 13:40 you all now though you were in the 13:42 mosque with him in the Universities of 13:45 Islam all you heard is teaching now the 13:48 old muscle beginning to say something 13:51 wrong see you a long way off 14:02 meaning you way off the path but just 14:07 because you desire to come home he run 14:10 out to meet you but I love you and 14:23 because I see you making one step I'm 14:26 running out to meet you and when you 14:28 talk that all stuff to me father I have 14:31 sinned and I'm no longer word I said 14:34 hush your mouth come on let's go home 14:39 what were you to do boy 14:46 when we kill the fatted calf better 14:52 captaining the best and the newest 15:00 wisdom 15:03 give it to him can you give him the best 15:06 wisdom you can put the robe on him and 15:09 the ring cuz he gonna rule now why you 15:12 give him the best because he been to the 15:15 depths of hell do you know what it's 15:18 like to be down so if he ever get up 15:22 he'll go back and get everything that is 15:24 down and bring it back with him 15:33 I became a prodigal son 15:39 I love the Honorable Elijah Muhammad but 15:45 when the change came in I went along 15:48 with the change which manifested a 15:52 weakness in me the nation fell and I had 15:58 a part in it 16:00 because the people were looking to me 16:03 and I didn't stand up it's written that 16:07 I wouldn't so I had to fulfill what was 16:10 in the book and that's why God forgave 16:12 Aaron and forgave Peter because it was 16:16 written that they would do exactly what 16:19 they did but when Peter came back Jesus 16:23 said and when you come back to faith 16:25 going strengthen your brothers and 16:28 that's what I've been doing for 11 years 16:31 strengthening you and all black America 16:34 and black people all over the world from 16:37 what's coming from my mouth given to me 16:40 by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad but I 16:42 fell down I know what down is and when I 16:48 fell down my family went down with me 16:51 some of them was down before I got down 16:55 I gotta speak to my son but I ain't 17:05 never with that but that mean son that 17:12 if you don't go down that deep you can 17:15 only rise as high as you go 17:20 although I can tell you true the lowest 17:22 thing you could be is a hypocrite 17:26 hypocrite is in the lowest depth of the 17:29 fire so I think I didn't get down pretty 17:31 low 17:34 so if the messenger said I would reach 17:36 the pinnacle of success then that means 17:38 I went down then my son's going down 17:54 allowed me to fall and allow me to come 17:58 back 18:02 no can lead you a falling people that 18:08 don't know the mean in the fall nobody 18:12 can bring the nation back they don't 18:14 know what it means to fall down we got a 18:20 no to fall in order to be compassionate 18:23 for those who have fallen so I have 18:31 fallen but now God has picked me back up 18:34 sing em for ten years going on 11 years 18:40 I have tried to prove to the world that 18:43 Elijah Muhammad was correct now check it 18:48 out here's a man spending almost alone 18:53 the Jews jump on him the president jumps 18:57 on him the government jumps on him and 18:59 he with a word 19:02 [Applause] 19:05 [Music] 19:08 [Applause] 19:10 they backing off and coming up another 19:14 way coming trying to make peace with me 19:17 white folks don't do that to me with me 19:26 to talk to me in my house 19:28 they don't come to you they make you go 19:31 to this that's right I don't go nowhere 19:44 now the government is plot I wrote a 19:49 letter to the president I reveal it at 19:52 the proper time but I want do what you 20:01 want to do but if you make that mistake 20:05 it will not go unanswered or unpunished 20:19 [Applause] 20:32 oh praise is due to Allah 20:34 [Applause] 20:37 my father the Honorable Elijah Muhammad 20:40 made me to fight for you you don't have 20:45 to talk just be quiet 20:47 I'll talk for you 20:59 I went out for long drive this morning 21:03 and as I was driving I was thinking of a 21:06 song that a Baptist preacher taught me 21:09 one day it at boys camp go something 21:16 like this can I go where can I go 21:28 seeking a refuge for my soul needing a 21:34 friend to save me in the end she's gone 22:00 before me not bad enough what you doing 22:05 God 22:06 I want to show you 22:09 that you don't need to rely on nobody me 22:16 cuz in the end can't nobody save you but 22:22 me and since you are precious in my 22:27 sight I'm not saying this of myself he 22:31 said it of me that I'm more valuable to 22:35 him than all the wealth that is in the 22:38 earth because that he meant when he came 22:41 here and he said he'll leave it when 22:43 he's gone but through me 22:45 he said he'll get all his people doing 22:48 look if he gonna get all of you through 22:51 me then I'm the most dangerous black man 22:57 [Applause] 23:05 yeah 23:06 [Applause] 23:12 well what about your father 23:14 in he more dangerous yes but you don't 23:20 know him many of you that follow him 23:23 don't know him and really we're not 23:28 worthy so he steps back and gets to you 23:33 through one that is more close to your 23:36 condition and since God had gifted me 23:41 with speech and not just speech but full 23:47 of his spirit 23:52 you can't fit under me without being 23:55 affected that's what makes me dangerous 23:59 and as a white people black folk are 24:03 listening and even his own people are 24:06 listening and he's afraid that if I 24:09 continue to teach the whole world will 24:12 come to me and he's not wrong so he said 24:17 this nigger is too dangerous we got to 24:19 get rid of you so as I was driving this 24:22 morning tears running down my cheek I 24:25 said well Allah I said it's us against 24:31 the world 24:37 I'm gonna make their move 24:40 I'm literally asking them to hurry just 24:49 a few weeks ago when I learned of what 24:53 the FBI's latest wickedness was in my 24:58 mind I said I'm gonna go and pray to 25:01 Allah and ask him to bring an earthquake 25:04 and level an American city to the ground 25:08 to show the white man that there's a 25:11 power here that you can't play with and 25:16 just as I'm thinking the thought I never 25:18 said to press 25:25 cities were leveled in Armenia here's 25:30 the president and Gorbachev in a love 25:35 fest in God short circuit it with a 25:40 little shaken and Ronnie boy is sugar oh 25:53 you you know white folks or something 25:56 they only powerful to you but in their 26:00 own eyes they know their power is 26:02 limited the Koran says if fly or a flea 26:10 or Annette took anything like a muscle 26:16 of bread from them they don't have the 26:20 power to say to the nest bring my morsel 26:23 of bread back think about that here's 26:27 the president can order the Armed Forces 26:29 into action and an app comes up and 26:33 takes away some of his caviar off his 26:36 plate he can't call the net come here 26:49 [Music] 26:52 or anything smaller he can order here 26:57 you are big grown-up human being and the 27:00 cracker just call you and you come like 27:02 a damn fool come in I want you to go 27:06 fight him he put me in jail should be 27:23 shame Quran week is the invoker the 27:31 collar and week is the invoked week is 27:36 the one that is calling and week is the 27:38 one that is being called they don't have 27:41 no power over you but the power we give 27:44 them 27:49 God is with you brother and sister you 27:53 are his prodigal people and he's come 27:56 for you 27:57 he's gonna bring you up out of this 27:59 condition in spite of what you think 28:02 about yourself he's gonna put the robe 28:04 on you shuffling knee bending head 28:19 bowing back scratching he gonna bring 28:25 you to the top the bottom rail is gonna 28:30 come to the top and the last shall be 28:33 the first this is the Lord's doing and 28:36 it is marvelous in our sight now our 28:40 brother it has already happened God 28:46 raises Elijah money and gives him a 28:50 knowledge it haven't been in the world 28:52 before 28:54 that's the fatted calf that's the next 28:58 thing is the road now your elder brother 29:01 he's hot 29:09 no no there's no messenger after Prophet 29:14 Muhammad no put no role on that neutral 29:24 that we laugh at and muck all over the 29:27 world not Hill we're gonna deny any 29:31 wisdom that you give to him has no 29:34 wisdom at all we're gonna force him to 29:38 bow down to us why because we've been at 29:41 home all along we answered your command 29:44 we followed your word look at him 29:46 you've been over there trying to be a 29:48 citizen in a strange land sleeping with 29:50 harlots and now you're gonna give him 29:52 the rope he said Oh son all that I have 29:56 is yours 29:59 but be merry because your brother that 30:02 was dead is alive your brother that was 30:06 lost is now 30:11 I say the same to my daughter Betsy Jean 30:15 and my son Joshua you come back to 30:22 themselves 30:25 I know that these children who grew up 30:30 in my house know me better than you know 30:35 me 30:37 and love me 30:41 I am their blood father but they have 30:55 not accepted me as their spiritual 30:59 father that means now that we are closer 31:04 than we ever could be because they're 31:08 not just my children biologically but 31:11 they have come to their father in the 31:14 work and in the mission so now sisters 31:22 are you gonna tell me today well I've 31:29 been here with you all the time 31:34 here BJ just come out of the shadow now 31:40 you're gonna put all of us and we've 31:43 been with you jamón yes 31:52 [Applause] 32:01 you me when I was picking food up out 32:05 the street feeding my family when my 32:13 wife and I put my daughter's in clothes 32:17 from the Salvation Army you are not with 32:22 me when the hypocrites find my house to 32:26 the ground with me and my children in it 32:28 trying to kill all of us because of my 32:31 faith in Allah you were not with me how 32:34 dad you in your arrogance compare your 32:38 few years of being with me to my 32:41 families being with me every day of 32:44 their life 32:45 [Applause] 33:00 you were not with me when I had to teach 33:04 my children how to roll out of the bed 33:07 if gun fire was level at the windows you 33:14 were not with me when we had fire drills 33:20 you were not with me 33:26 not in those days I thank Allah that you 33:31 came when you came and you have tried 33:33 your best to follow the commands of 33:36 Allah as I give it to you and you 33:39 deserve credit but don't spoil it now 33:51 that my father and your father put his 33:55 hand on when she was 16 and anointed her 33:59 to do this work now she's come out of 34:02 the dark shadows a prodigal daughter but 34:05 I'm gonna put the robe on and I'm gonna 34:09 put the ring on her finger 34:11 [Applause] 34:16 because lost is now found this that was 34:21 dead is a lie 34:23 my daughter's returning to me it's a 34:27 sign that that door is open now for all 34:31 of them that were driven away for 34:32 whatever reason they can come back now 34:35 because one net worth on the bottom has 34:38 come back to reach down in the bottom 34:40 and get them all and bring them home 34:43 [Music] 34:43 [Applause] 34:58 here come my son you don't know him I 35:06 watched him from a baby 35:11 I seen him at nine Mithu 35:30 [Music] 35:35 I take him to the hospital and the 35:41 doctor said it don't look like he's 35:44 gonna make it they had to drain him of 35:48 all his blood and give him new blood 35:52 because we didn't know what he had eaten 35:56 that had him near death but there's my 36:01 wife and I drove back to the house 36:04 leaving this boy in the hospital I said 36:06 honey I said let us ask Allah that if it 36:13 is his will 36:14 son be saved we praise him and we thank 36:18 you but if it is his will that we lose 36:22 our son ask him to give us the strength 36:25 to endure his will the doctors called us 36:30 back and said he's gonna make it 36:35 so he came and I watched him as a young 36:38 boy he always wanted his father's 36:40 attention he always sought more than 36:46 some of the others to do the thing that 36:49 would please his father to get his 36:52 father's attention and in reality his 36:54 father's loved yeah he rebelled all 37:01 through school oh oh through school I 37:08 had to beat this boy and some of the 37:11 others and that's about all I knew to do 37:15 I didn't know how to bring them back 37:19 with intelligent discourse I figured 37:22 what the hell that's what my mom gave me 37:25 I'll give more to slap ology stick all 37:28 of your broom ology I don't know nothing 37:31 about child psychology I just beat the 37:33 hell out you and bring you back 37:38 well you know we come up from slavery 37:40 brother we don't know anything about in 37:43 treating our children we don't know how 37:46 to work with their mind all we do is 37:48 work with their behind and thereby mine 37:50 through there behind you understand what 37:52 I'm talking about ain't that the way 37:56 your mom and dad was it'll ask you then 37:59 they break your neck when you get up off 38:02 the fraud days do you know not to do 38:04 that again 38:13 some of you youngsters you can say to 38:15 your mother no it ain't raining outside 38:18 if mama says raining you better believe 38:20 it's rain 38:23 my mother don't care whether the Sun was 38:25 time she said it's raining you don't 38:27 contradict her if you do she live in 38:30 your mouth like a dentist 38:35 can you end up with no teeth 38:55 as a little boy could take wild animals 39:00 and train them I used to watch with 39:04 amazement rats mice gerbils frogs 39:14 rabbits snakes 39:19 was that iguana 39:23 he had creatures everywhere my house 39:29 would like creature feature 39:31 I let the boy get a bull constrictor 39:37 thought he was gonna keep the food in 39:40 his Luke Bank I go in his bathroom 39:43 looking for some soap or something and 39:48 that book has picked this up over the 39:51 curtain going up this wall liven up the 39:56 wall and looking over at me 40:03 this train these things to respond to 40:08 him I said this is good son I thought 40:13 got some crazy people out here maybe one 40:17 day you will help me train up of people 40:21 for God see that was supposed to be his 40:25 job from day one when the messenger laid 40:30 eyes on him he told him he had a 40:33 daughter for him he thought it was lot 40:37 of your effort but there was already 40:39 married 40:45 he got scared almost scared him straight 40:55 but the messenger had a beautiful little 40:58 daughter all picked out for him and told 41:03 him that he was gonna be a minister and 41:07 that he should walk after his father 41:09 told his brother Lewis the same thing 41:12 and when I told the messenger about my 41:15 son here when he was 10 or 11 years old 41:19 how he wanted to kill all the enemies of 41:22 Muhammad 41:29 well they all groan now now the young 41:37 man is back from being product 41:43 I believe he's gonna help me in a big 41:46 way you know why I have never been into 41:53 cocaine when I was a young boy smoked 41:56 reefer a few times and a few times that 42:00 I smoked that stuff I knew that stuff 42:02 wasn't for me I didn't like how silly I 42:06 was acting with it and I always like to 42:10 keep my hidden remember when I was 42:16 singing one or two choruses you know 42:18 John you I had to give that thing up and 42:21 my mother used to always have a loose 42:23 wine a little gin a little rum in her 42:27 little cabinet you know and she would 42:30 always give my brother me a little nip 42:32 you know and tell us boys I don't want 42:36 you to get this in the street I want you 42:38 to get it right here so here at that she 42:40 went in the street I would go to him 42:47 but I didn't want to get my head funny I 42:51 only been drunk I don't want to tell a 42:57 lie I think I was really drunk drunk I 43:09 was a little boy and I never will forget 43:13 the whiskey cost a dollar twenty three 43:16 and that was a half a pint in those days 43:21 and it was cheap cheap cheap cheap cheap 43:25 stuff me and my boys you know and we 43:31 Analia you know down in this half a pint 43:33 of Lansdowne whiskey whiskey so bad it 43:39 went out of style and you can't even 43:43 find that stuff no more 43:46 I drunk that stuff and went in the house 43:52 and run straight to my room custom my 43:58 mother's so shop she might smell it you 44:02 know I laid in the bed and the bed went 44:05 to turning but I was tired man so I laid 44:15 back down to the bed went to turn it I 44:18 said oh this is terrible and it's tough 44:22 start coming up I started running toward 44:24 the bathroom board and didn't make it 44:26 all over the floor mom jumps up comes 44:29 out naturally she smelled it you've been 44:34 drinking 44:35 well that's just partying uh you got a 44:38 light quick you know and they put some 44:42 stuff in the punch and I didn't know it 44:44 was spicy 44:49 I know y'all have told him same lies 44:54 right 44:58 he made me clean up all that stuff off 45:01 the floor and that stuff was so mean it 45:03 took the Ronnie's got no problem with me 45:10 until the messenger left in one day I 45:15 was flying from Los Angeles to Chicago 45:17 first class and when you in first class 45:21 they stopped you off with a little 45:22 champagne but nobody in first class but 45:26 me and some white folks I said I wasn't 45:30 trying to teach nobody dinner I just 45:35 trying to be a Negro again 45:39 they give me my little shot you know and 45:43 that went down pretty nice that got 45:46 another one then I got some other stuff 45:53 with the dinner and after dinner got the 45:57 liquor you know by the time I hit 46:00 Chicago bars feeling my devotee I picked 46:07 up my little card airport and drove home 46:10 laughing all the way 46:17 when I got home you know I mean I laugh 46:19 to myself I said boy you to crazy but 46:24 that's it five model escapades with when 46:28 I heard the call to get back up see I 46:30 didn't have no reefer to throw down no 46:32 cigarettes to throw down I'm already 46:37 sick of that foolishness but my son and 46:42 he went little deeper into that stuff 46:48 so now how can I relate to a brother who 46:53 knows crack cocaine 46:57 speed LSD all I can't relate to you on 47:03 it you can tell me about it I can teach 47:05 you but I don't know nothing about your 47:07 life not when you get down that beat but 47:10 he does so I can step back and say come 47:16 on son born and talk to the people when 47:19 they left and raise them let me teach 47:25 you and then take them to the messenger 47:28 and it'll take them on the gun but look 47:31 don't you ever feel that somebody's 47:37 doing you out of something when they 47:40 come back and start assuming a role with 47:43 their father 47:56 and since I'm giving you the chance to 48:00 help me and you've done what you could 48:03 and some of it's been good and a lot of 48:06 it has been found and some of it has 48:09 been bad my children have a chance 48:16 [Applause] 48:22 so I think I long for the prodigal son 48:27 that God has blessed to come home and I 48:32 see they're all let us rejoice not be 48:35 sad not be able not feel put out but 48:40 rejoice because he's a find that there 48:43 many more out there and they're on their 48:45 way 48:46 we gotta make moon fall they're on their 48:50 way 48:51 so to my daughter and my son and my sons 48:55 and my daughters I thank Allah for you I 49:01 thank Allah for this experience that has 49:05 helped to grow up your father a little 49:08 bit more that he understands life a 49:11 little bit better I think Allah for the 49:16 prodigal sons and daughters of the 49:19 Honorable Elijah Muhammad that went 49:21 astray and I'm telling you it ain't 49:24 gonna be like it was in the days of Noah 49:26 and it's not gonna be like it was in the 49:29 days of David because when the Jesus 49:33 come on the scene everybody got a chance 49:38 to make it there is nobody that gets 49:42 lost today I don't care how much you 49:47 delay coming you are on your way whether 49:50 you know it 49:58 so thank you for listening thank you for 50:03 this beautiful afternoon I think I lost 50:07 over and over again for the Muslims in 50:12 Washington DC for brother Minister our 50:17 Lehman brother captain 50:18 Muhammad and the brothers at my son name 50:21 whom I will have holy name Paul because 50:27 they didn't want to bring him and 10 50:31 others back some of whom are very 50:35 brilliant but their brilliance was being 50:38 swallowed up in drugs but they're back 50:42 now ready to leave and teach and guide 50:46 and help others to come up out of that 50:49 condition so welcome home welcome home 50:54 daughter 50:56 [Applause] 50:57 [Music] 51:01 [Applause] 51:34 thank you for a wonderful afternoon 51:41 how many of you here today for your 51:52 first second third time Kathy and 52:03 [Applause] 52:06 those of you who are here for your first 52:09 second or third time how many of you 52:13 believe that what you heard talk today 52:17 that it is the truth and it's good for 52:21 us as the people master your hands 52:23 please well you have done your job and 52:38 by God's grace I've tried to do mine the 52:42 best that I could ask of you is to come 52:44 and hear me for yourself and you did 52:49 that today and I thank you so much 52:53 you gave me two hours of your time 53:02 and the enemy is put out so much 53:05 propaganda against me for you to come in 53:10 here for yourself now you know you're 53:16 intelligent enough to look at me and 53:18 listen to me and know whether a man is 53:21 jiving or whether man is in fear and 53:25 telling the truth you're not crazy you 53:28 know that so you raised your hand and 53:31 said that it was true and it is but this 53:36 last question I wish to ask has nothing 53:39 to do with me but it has everything to 53:44 do with you and your relationship to 53:49 Almighty God 53:52 a man can tell the truth and another can 53:57 hear it but only God can touch the heart 54:04 and the mind of a listener and cause 54:08 that person to say this is what I've 54:11 been looking for all my life and I'm 54:14 gonna become a part of it 54:19 that's between you and God 54:24 so if I may I would like to ask how many 54:32 of you that said it is true at some 54:37 point during this lecture well your 54:44 Creator saying to you and you agreeing 54:47 with him this is the truth this is where 54:50 I belong and I'm ready I want to become 54:54 a part of this any of you that had 54:58 thinking like that mess of your hands 55:01 [Applause] 55:13 listen I would like to have the 55:19 privilege of shaking your hand I don't 55:23 want anyone to get up to shake my hands 55:26 because you've heard of fire Connie you 55:29 just want to shake his hand 55:31 I appreciate it but the greatest hand 55:36 that you will ever shake until you shake 55:40 the hand of God and his apostle is your 55:45 own hand that's the hand that's gonna 55:48 deliver you your hand that you got and 55:51 my hand is just like your hands and 55:55 believe me 55:56 brothers and sisters we have a right to 55:59 respect each other but worship belongs 56:03 only to God 56:06 so all those sisters and brothers that 56:11 want to unite with us and let's go to 56:15 work and build for our people I would 56:18 like to have the privilege of shaking 56:20 your hands the symbolism of shaking my 56:24 hand is that I want to unite you and 56:27 your hands to the handle of truth and 56:30 once you will a home to truth you hold 56:34 on to it never let go of truth and you 56:39 will always have the power to do as you 56:44 will if your will is right 56:47 so sisters and brothers if you're in the 56:50 balcony come on down and let me have the 56:55 privilege of shaking your hand and if 56:57 you're on the main floor sister come on 56:59 up brother 57:00 come right on up and I'd like you to 57:02 shake my hand and I want my son to stand 57:04 with me and you can shake his hand too 57:06 and then I want you to follow our 57:09 brother here to the secretary and 57:11 they'll give you a bit of information 57:12 all you got to do is follow that 57:15 information and we're on the road to 57:17 building something great for our people 57:20 come on down brother 57:22 [Music] 57:28 [Applause] 57:39 all those on the third floor the second 57:41 floor let's give it one big round of 57:42 applause 57:46 [Music] 58:20 [Music] 58:33 well all praise is due to Allah and 58:39 since our face is limited from now on 58:42 when the mosque is set up set one more 58:46 roll up in front here 58:56 [Applause] 59:19 I thank you all very very much 59:26 I thank Allah for beautiful beautiful 59:37 would you come down 59:52 I say to all of you that have children 60:01 remember the words of my son you know 60:05 don't get so busy and you don't take a 60:09 little time with your children when 60:13 they're very young they really need us 60:17 most 60:18 and we are not attentive to them I have 60:22 a son here that is one of the best 60:24 fathers I've ever seen he's taught me 60:27 much just from watching him 60:34 [Applause] 60:44 and I'm not just saying that the young 60:47 man has taught me my observing and 60:59 hopefully my children will be better 61:02 than I and their children better than 61:04 they so that we never have to look back 61:08 on a dark past but our path our future 61:11 will always be brighter and brighter and 61:14 brighter and I asked the children of 61:17 parents who have tried so hard to be 61:19 Muslims to be forgiving of your parents 61:24 in our effort to be right but in our 61:28 ignorance 61:32 and embrace your fathers and your 61:36 mothers and you parents go home and 61:39 embrace your children this is my 61:52 daughter this is my oldest daughter 61:56 really she's my sister 62:02 when I used to walk the street with my 62:05 three daughters the brothers on the 62:09 corner with you 62:21 but she's a very soulful woman and I 62:26 tell you when you get to know her you'll 62:29 grow to love her she's very strong very 62:36 and I believe she's gonna do very well 62:41 with your help this coming Tuesday but 62:49 dinner is planned for all of the staff 62:56 at the national house with sister Betty 63:00 Jeanne's and sister 63:04 captain Amina resume will be coming in 63:07 from New York and sister Nettie Muhammad 63:10 will be coming over from Detroit and 63:13 they're gonna stay with us but Allah 63:49 blessed me to teach the class on this 63:53 past Thursday and the Thursday before if 63:58 I'm a homeless thing I think it's news 64:02 that women all over the should have and 64:08 so those of you sisters who were not 64:10 here ask for the tape and it should be 64:15 mopped for women only until we get ready 64:21 to make it public because I think it's 64:24 something that men need to hear about 64:28 who this woman is 64:33 and if you don't know her you don't know 64:37 yourself 64:38 but when you find out who she is you 64:42 will honor and respect her more and you 64:46 will honor and respect yourself more so 64:51 you better get that tape don't give it 64:54 to the brothers yet you take it home and 64:58 get you one of these Walkman they're the 64:59 only can beer in your ear so on Thursday 65:09 night all the sisters I invited okay so 65:24 if you've been a little prodigal to come 65:32 on home and meet the prodigal daughter 65:38 she got something for you and all those 65:42 that been at home all the while don't 65:45 you stay away 65:49 and I feel sorry for you if you get a 65:51 negative attitude I'd like to just warn 65:56 you if you turn
