At the end of 50 minutes discussion, the pupils should be able to:

a. Determine the correct way of writing fraction to percent;

b. Demonstrate to the class the correct way of writing fraction to percent;
and,
c. Participate actively in the class activity.

VALUING: PATIENCE

II. Subject Matter

III. Procedure: Constructivist Approach

TEACHER’S ACTIVITY PUPILS’ ACTIVITY

A. Preliminary Activities

1. Prayer.
- Everybody stand for a prayer - The pupils stand to pray

2. Greetings.
- Good afternoon class. - Good afternoon Sir.

3. Opening song.
- Let us sing the song “Up and Down” - The pupils will sing.

4. Checking of attendance.
- Who is/are absent/s today? - None Sir
- Very Good.
-
5. Setting of class standards.
- What will you do if the class is going
on? - Keep silence and listen attentively.
- Very Good.

- What else? - Sit properly.

- Very Good.

- Can I expect that from you? - Yes Sir.

- Great.
6. Checking of assignments. - The pupils will bring out their assignment
- Bring out and pass your assignment and pass it.
so I can check it

7. Drill
- (The teacher will pose an activity
game) - The pupils then immediately group
- The pupils are ask to group themselves into two and start doing the
themselves into two. game
Direction: Match the ff. given fractions into their
corresponding value into percent. Just pick and
paste it into the corresponding value.

 50%, 75%, 25%, 20% and 10%

FRACTION PERCENT
1. 3/4 75%
2. ½ 50%
3. 1/4 25%
4. 1/5 20%
5. 1/10 10%

8. Motivation
- After the activity, the teacher will now
collect all the outputs of two groups
and paste it in front to have
comparison between the output of
other group and will pose some
questions.
- Sir I observed conversion of fraction into
- Class what did you observed on your percent
activity?

- Very Good.
- Sir it is very important to learn how to
9. Value infusion or Valuing write fraction as percent. Since the two
- Class why is it important to learn how are interrelated and the same in value if
to write fraction as percent transposed. Fraction and percent are very
useful in our daily life especially in
budgeting.
B. Developmental Activities

1. Presentation

- Perhaps, you have already come up your - Yes. Sir.

conclusion about our topic today.

- So what is it? ( the teacher will call a pupil - Sir I think our topic for today is about
who will volunteer to answer. ) writing of fraction as percent, isn’t it?

- Precisely.

2. Discussion and Demonstration.

- Do you have an idea about fraction? -Yes Sir. Fraction is a part of a whole
- Very Good
- One part in a hundred: an
- How about Percents
- Very Good amount that is equal to one one-
hundredth of something.

- There are two parts of fraction. Do you

know what are those class? - Yes Sir. The numerator and the
denominator.
- Great. We call the top number
as Numerator and we call the bottom
number as Denominator.

- Class I’d prepared a task today. A set of

fraction of an object and I will demonstrate
it to you on how to write it into percent.

a. 5/10

b. 5 2/25

- To write a fraction into percent, write an

equivalent fraction w/ a denominator of 100
or think of a no.that when multiplied by the
denominator will result to 100. Multiply the
same no. by the numerator. Then, write it
as percent.

- a.5/10 = 5*10=50 =50%

10*10 100

- b. 5 2/25 = 127x4 = 508 = 508%

25x4 100

- So class. If will write these using proportion.

Would we still come up the same result? - Yes Sir.

- Very good. So now I will show you if we

really come up same result as what we did
earlier.

- To write a proportion to percent consider

the fraction 5/10 is equivalent of n/100.
Then,we will find the value of n by getting
the product of extremes and the means.

- ( the teacher will now solve and show to the

pupils if it will come up the same result
base on the ex. a and by writing it into
proportion to percent)

a. 5:10=n:100  500=10n 500/10=10n/10

n= 50%
b. 5 2/25=
127:25=n:100127*10025n12700/2525n/25
n= 508% - Yes Sir.
- So class did we come up the same result
as what we did in fraction or in the first
activity?

3. Practice Exercise
- The pupils will now volunteer
- The teacher will encourage 4 pupils who
themselves and answer the given task
will volunteer to answer on the board.
on the board.
- Write the given fraction and proportion into
percent.
-6/20 6/20*5/530/100 =30%
- 6/20
-6/20 6:20=n:100 6*100 = 20n
600/20 = 20n/20  n= 30%

4. Fixing Skills – Group Activity

- so now class I’d prepare a task for you. Group

- ( the pupils will now group
yourselves into four. Each group should have a
themselves into four)
leader. The leader should volunteer to get the
activity sheet in the front.
a.
a.

1/5= 20% 1/5 = 20%

b. b.

1/8 = 12.5 % 1/8 = 12.5%

Directions
- Determine the shaded parts on these objects.
Write it into fraction and proportion form then write - Yes Sir.
it as percent. Show to the class on how you come
up to your answer.

Criteria for Grading

Criteria Percentage
1. Correctness 40%
2. Cooperation 20%
3. Efficiency 20%
4. Delivery 10%
5. Neatness 10%
TOTAL = 100 %
- you are given a 5min. time to finish the task. You - The pupils will now start doing
may start now. their group activity.

- Okay class. Time is now over. Pass your outputs - The pupils will now submit their
and report it on front. outputs and go back to their
respective seats.

5. Generalization
- How do you write fraction into percents? - Sir write an equivalent fraction that the
denominator is 100 or think of a no. that
when you multiply in denominator it will
result to 100. Likewise, multiply it to the
numerator. Then write it as percent. If
happened, that it is in the form of
proportion just find the value of n by
multiplying extremes to means.
6. Application
Solution
Solve the given problem.
1week allowance of Ana = Php800.00
Ana is a pupil of XXX Central Elementary
Miscellaneous Expenses= ¼ of her
School. Her parents gave her 1week allowance
allowance
worth of Php800.00. If Ana budget ¼ from her
Cost of Miscellaneous = ? (
allowance for her miscellaneous how much will
Php200.00)
cost for her miscellaneous alone?
Sol.
800 X ¼ = 200
Or
1:4 = n:800  800 = 4n  800/4=4n/4
n= 200
IV. Evaluation
Write the ff.given into percent. Show your solution.
( the pupils will now start answering)
1. 8/10
2. 10/8 1.80 %
3. 2 2/4 2. 125 %
4. 8:10 3. 250%
5. 1 10/8 4. 80%
5. 225%
V. Assignment
Make a two pie graphs showing how you spend
your allowance in 1week. Label your first graph
with fraction and second graph with percent.
