I – OBJECTIVES:
Having gone through an activity, learners are expected to:
A. describe the drug scenario in the Philippines;
B. value individual’s health and know when to use a certain drug;
C. create a word cloud/ poster about the drug scenario in the Philippines

B. MOTIVATION: (PICTURE ANALYSIS)


The teacher will show sample pictures of the drug scenario in the Philippines. The teacher will let the
students describe each picture.

The teacher will ask the following question questions:


1. Are you familiar with the situations in the picture?
2. What seem to be the similarities of the three pictures?
3. Is your community facing the same problem in the picture?

B. LESSON PROPER
Activity (GRAPHIC ORGANIZER)
The teacher will post the word DRUG SCENARIO IN THE PHILIPPINES. Each of the students
must fill in with the information found in the newspaper/any article found in the website related to drugs in
the red part of the capsule and on the white part of the capsule the student must fill in with their insights or
reaction about the article relating to the drugs.

Analysis (TABLE COMPLETION)


Each student task is to complete the table by providing the possible reason why Filipinos abuses
drugs and negative effect of using drugs in our health.
The teacher will facilitate the activity.

Abstraction (GRAPHS)
The teacher will have a lecturette about Drug scenario in the Philippines.
The teacher will let the students read an article related to the Drug Scenario in the Philippines. Let each
student read it. Then create a graph which shows the interpretation of the most commonly abused drugs.
Each student will be using the PIE Graph.
The teacher will ask the following questions.

Most Commonly Abused Drugs

Methamphetamine Hydrochloride, commonly known as “Shabu” remains to be the main drug of


abuse comprising ninety-four percent (93.72%) of the total admission. This is followed by Cannabis
(Marijuana) at twenty-three percent (22.59%), and Contact Cement (Rugby) with less than one percent
(0.73%). Mono drug use is still the nature of drug taking and the routes of administration are
inhalation/sniffing and oral ingestion.

Using the word cloud App, each student must list down insights/ ideas that they have learn in the
lesson. The teacher will facilitate the activity.
Example Word Cloud:

For those who do not have cellphones to create the activity, create a poster showing the harmful
effects of drugs in our health.
