Indians gained freedom under the
leadership of Gandhiji, but his dream of a
clean India is s ll unfulfilled. In his “Mann
Ki Baat”, Prime Minister Mr. Narendra
Modi drew na on's a en on towards
plogging. He termed it as an innova ve
exercise to fulfill the dreams of the father
of the Na on, Mahatma Gandhi. The Fit
India Plogging Run was organized by GTU
as a step toward India's commitment to
abolish single-use plas c.

I believe that India's economic future lies

in encouraging startups and innova on
which will bring new thinking and create
jobs. According to a new report from
industry body Na onal Associa on of
So ware and Ser vices Companies
(Nasscom), India's start-up ecosystem has
the poten al to create up to 12.5 lakh
direct jobs by 2025, from 3.9-4.3 lakh direct jobs in 2019. We are playing an important role in fostering the culture of
innova on in GTU. Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Hon'ble Educa on Minister, Government of Gujarat
inaugurated GTU Innova on & Startup Center- Incuba on Center to support innova ve ideas of young students.

I firmly believe that academic collabora ons, industry linkages and partnerships with foreign universi es will help
develop future-ready solu ons. Recently various interac ve mee ngs were conducted to promote academic
collabora ons with foreign universi es and GTU signed various MoUs to bridge the skill gap between academia and
industry.

Navratri celebra on, Innova on Day Celebra on, Na onal Day Celebra on, Inter Zone Youth Fes val and Interac ve
session with the students of Jammu & Kashmir were also organized in between October to December 2019.

I am confident that efforts at GTU will benefit all stakeholders of the university and promote meaningful dialogue
towards making GTU one of the largest interna onal innova ve ecosystem in the world.

PLOGGING RUN ON GANDHI JAYANTI ON 02.10.2019

Gujarat Technological University organized

'Fit India Plogging Run' on 2 October, 2019
on the occasion of 150th birth anniversary
of Mahatma Gandhi. Honourable Vice
Chancellor-Prof. (Dr.) Navin Sheth,
Re g i st ra r- D r. K . N . K h e r, GT U S taff
members, students, NCC Cadets and NSS
Volunteers par cipated in the event. They
covered 2.5 km. distance from GTU campus
to Visat Three Road via new C.G. Road and
collected all plas c garbage. Around 250
persons par cipated in the run and
approximately 135 Kg. of garbage was
collected.

INAUGURATION OF GTU INNOVATION & STARTUP CENTER- INCUBATION CENTER ON 25.10.2019

On the auspicious day of Dhanteras, 25th October

2019, Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Hon'ble
Educa on Minister, Government of Gujarat
inaugurated GTU Innova on & Startup Center-
Incuba on Center. Few successful startups displayed
their products and interacted with Hon'ble Educa on
Minister and got feedback regarding future plans for
their respec ve ventures.

NAMO E-TABLET DISTRIBUTION CEREMONY ON 21.11.2019

Namo E-tab distribu on ceremony was organized

at GTU on 21st November 2019. Shri Bhupendrasinh
Chudasama, State Educa on Minister was invited
as a Chief Guest and Shri Rajubhai Shah, BOG
member- GTU; Dr. Navin Sheth, Honourable VC,
GTU; Dr. K. N. Kher, Registrar- GTU and Mr. Patel, I/C
CAO were dignitaries on dais. 200 students from
various GTU affiliated colleges received Tablets
from the dignitaries.

MOU BETWEEN GTU AND AUTODESK ON 25.11.2019

GTU signed a MoU on 25th November, 2019

with Autodesk, an American Mul na onal
So ware Corpora on in CAD/CAM/CAE
so ware with wide network worldwide, to
bridge the skill gap between academia and
industry in the area of Design Innova on
and Digital Manufacturing. The MoU was
signed by Dr. K N Kher, Registrar, GTU and
Mr. Deepankar Bha acharyya, Autodesk
India Educa on Lead.

MOU BETWEEN GTU AND DASSAULT INDIA PVT. LTD. ON 19.12.2019

GTU signed a MOU with Dassault India

which will facilitate in se ng up high
skill development centre at Design
Innova on Centre (DIC) to transform
ideas to prototype & full-fledged viable
product saleable in the market so as to
develop as entrepreneur. It will provide

WORKSHOP ON ANTENNA DESIGN USING HFSS ON 05.10.2020
Antenna is Eye of Communica on. High
frequency antennas are required to be
developed for fulfilling the increasing
demand of high data rate and seamless
coverage. Design Innova on Centre of
GTU organized hands-on workshop on
Antenna Design Using HFSS. Dr. Nilesh
Desai, Deputy Director SAC – ISRO was
invited as a Chief Guest. Dr. Dhaval
Pujara, Head of Department - Nirma
University was present as Guest of Honor.
Dr. Dhaval Pujara delivered expert talk on
“Recent Trend on Antenna” to present 72
par cipants. Mr. Shahid Modasiya,
Assistant Professor conducted hands- on
session during workshop.

WORKSHOP ON PCB DESIGN MACHINE BY SCITECH ON 13.11.2019

The Printed Circuit Board (PCB) is very important in
all electronic gadgets which are used to design the
electronics circuits.
Under Community Innova on & Co-Crea on Centre
(CiC3), GTU has procured PCB Design Machine to
design electric circuit in form of PCB to help
students, start-ups or researchers to make their
research projects. Demonstra on on PCB Design
was organized by CiC3 in which experts came from
SCITECH.

INTERACTION SESSION IN STARTUPS & INNOVATIONS IN HEALTHCARE AND

MEDICAL DEVICES ON 26.11.2020

An interac on session on Startups and Innova ons in Healthcare and Medical Devices was organized with
an objec ve to give an opportunity to the par cipants to interact with invited experts. A frui ul panel
discussion focusing on the challenges faced in healthcare and medical device sector ended with posi ve
feedback to organize more such informa ve sessions.

discussed about vast features and usages
of Python in technical markets. They
covered up almost all of basic
terminologies and structures of Python

python 2.0 and 3.0 and advised to have
installed ANACONDA (Python IDE).

PRELIMINARY SCREENING & EVALUATION OF IDEAS SUBMITTED FOR IDEATHON
CONDUCTED ON 16.12.2019 AT GIC, RAJKOT

Atal Incuba on Center of GTU (AIC- GISC Founda on) supported by AIM, NITI Aayog organized IDEAthon -
an event wherein the students & startup got an opportunity to get their idea validated and Incubated for
developing viable enterprise at regional GTU Innova on & Startup Centers –Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Vadodara,
Surat. Preliminary screening of ideas submi ed for IDEAthon was conducted for the following themes in
front of invited jury/experts:
1. Healthcare and Medical Devices
2. Applica ons of IT, IOT & AI in Healthcare
3. Biotechnology and Life Sciences

FACULTY DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME ON “MACHINES LEARNING AND DEEP

LEARNING FUNDAMENTALS” UNDER ISEA PHASE II FROM 16.12.2019 TO 20.12.2019 IN
ASSOCIATION WITH VODAFONE INDIA FOUNDATION.

Gujarat Technological University in associa on with Vodafone India Founda on organized the Faculty
Development Programme on Machine Learning and Deep Learning fundamentals under ISEA Phase II from 16th to
20th December 2019 at GTU Chandkheda campus. This FDP was the second in the series of advanced applica ons
workshop from Vodafone India Founda on. The objec ve of the workshop was to familiarize the par cipants with
the fundamentals through a hands-on experience in the areas of Machine and Deep Learning.

STUDENT INDUCTION FROM 19.12.2019 TO 21.12.2019

Human Values for the Student Induc on. Resource persons were deputed from the AICTE. Dr. N. K. Sharma
– Professor (Indraprastha Engineering College, Ghaziabad), Mr. Anil Singh Rathore – Professor (Babu
Banarasi Das Na onal Ins tute of Technology and Management, Lucknow), Dr. C. N. Patel – Principal (Shri
Sarvajanik Pharmacy College, Mehsana), Shri Shreekantbhai Katdare, Dr. K. N. Kher – Registrar, GTU, Dr.
Makarand Karkare – Director (GTU-GSET) and Mr. Mahesh Panchal – Assistant Professor (GTU-GSMS) were

AICTE - GTU SPONSORED FDP (PHARMACY) FROM 24.12.2019 TO 28.12.2019

Graduate School of Pharmacy (GSP) arranged GTU and AICTE sponsored Faculty Development Programme (FDP)
on the theme of “Recent Advances in Pharmaceu cal Sciences: Opportuni es and Challenges for research in

Academic Ins tu ons” from 24 to 28 December 2019. The FDP focused on research improvement in an academic
ins tu on and promoted interdisciplinary research in Pharmaceu cal. Twelve experts were invited to deliver their
lectures on the theme. 40 par cipants from all over India registered in this programme. The visit of Sun Pharma
Advanced Research Centre (SPARC) was arranged on 27th December 2019 to get an insight into actual advance
research.

GTU AND VISHWAGRAM JOINTLY ORGANIZED INTERACTIVE SESSION WITH THE STUDENTS
OF JAMMU & KASHMIR ON 24.12.2019
GTU and Vishwagram jointly organized 'Interac ve session with the students of Jammu & Kashmir' on 24th
December, 2019 at Satwik Food Fes val, Bhagavat Vidhyapith Campus- Ahmedabad. Vishwagram, an
NGO, has been working in Jammu and Kashmir since long. It provides educa onal assistant to students
from primary to higher educa on level. Moreover by arranging community programmes, it makes people
aware about human concerns of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
