Good Morning the Head master of SMAK Negeri St. Thomas Morus, good morning the Head
of Administration of SMAK Negeri St. Thomas Morus, good morning Vice Principal of SMAK Negeri St.
Thomas Morus, good morning my beloved teachers and all my friends. First of all, let say thanks to the
Almighty God, Who has Kept us, so all of us can gather here in good condition. I am so happy to see
your smile, it can makes me strong. Thank you. Now, I wanna bring my speech about challenges in the
world of education.

What is the Industrial Revolution 4.0? and how we can face it? Industrial Revolution 4.0 is a
big thing which the world have faced. But, i wont speak about the world problem. I just wanna tell you
about the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and its challenges for the education sector. The education sector
is also affected by the development of massive information technology. This can be seen from the
increasing demands for improvment in the quality of teaching and learning process and the result
rather than based only on rigid and non-adaptive policies, which only rely on the clasic problem of
effort to equalize and fulfill access to educational facilities and infrastructure.

My dear audience....

There are various reason put forward in many discussion in the public sphere, why our
education must respond to the rapid changes in society in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0, while
the development of education has not been able to follow optimally the speed the Industrial
Revolution. One of the effort thet need to be made to deal with the Industrial Revolution 4.0 is trough
improving the quality of teachers to be able to teach material with the approach of applying IT in
teaching and learning. That makes student can start to learn how to face the technology and how to
use it.

Teachers must be able to use IT to improve the quality of teaching and learning in each
education unit. This effort was made in order to be able to prepare superior human resources with
global competencies, because even though information technology is developing so fast and learning
resources are so easily obtained, the role of teachers as educators is irreplaceable by technological
advances. Educators in the Industrial Revolution era must be increase their understanding in
expressing themselves in the field of media literacy, understanding the information that will be shared
with student and finding analisys to solve the problem of digital literacy academics. It is hoped that all
parties must increase collaboration in future educational orentations and change the performance of
the education system that can develop the quality of the mindset of student and strenghten the
digitalization of educaion based on applications.

My beloved audience, why the issue of the industial revolution 4.0 is so important for us?
especially in our school SMAK Negeri St. Thomas Morus? Technology is an important virus which can
infect all part in our lives. We can’t stop technology effect. It blows so fast. In some parts, in our place,
We cannot stay in our traditional ways forever. We must being adaptated with the techology. I can
give one example, how technology is so important for us. In our region in Flores, we have so many
natural resourcess which we can blow up with the techology. In this case our people here only taste
the smallest part of the profit from our natural resourcess. The biggest part has tasted by the others.
That is not good for us in this gerenaration and for the nest generation. The explanation above is
enough to illustrate how the Industrial Revolution has infiltrated the entire joint of the nation’s life,
giving rise to many ‘homework’ one of which is in our realm of education, in order to be able to
produce human resourcess capable of adaptating to the development of information technology.

My beloved audience. Finally, In connestion with the explanation above, we hope that efforts
to adapt to the Industrial Revolution 4.0 should be well prepared. The goverment together with all
stakeholders should seriously rethink various matters related to strengthening the education system
in the face of onslaught of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. Because change is a necessity, so with the
chalengges of education in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, this should be properly prepared.
