Solve the following:
1. The Boy Scouts hiked 3.5 km during the recent camping trip. This is half as far
as the Girl Scouts hiked. How far did the Girl Scouts hike?
2. Mother bought 0.78 kilogram of grapes. She repacked the grapes so that each
pack contains 0.26 kilogram. How many packs did mother use?
3. At Php14.75 per plastic bag of charcoal, how many bags can be bought with
P132.75?
4. If P1575.00 is paid for 50 kilograms of rice, how much did a kilogram of rice
cost?
5. Marie has Php 41.00 which she asked the bank teller to change to 25-centavo

much did each organization receive?
3. Mang Jerry has 7.5 hectares of land in neat Wawa Dam. He wants to divide it
into 1.5 hectares each for his sons. How many sons does Mang Jerry have?
4. Trisha and her friends sold plastic bottles and other recyclable materials in the
junk shop.The junk costs Php 73.85. He wants to divide this amount evenly between
himself and four of his friends. How much should each person get?

1. Zia, Alyssa, and Daisy have afternoon jobs. Zia earns Php 299.25 for 3 days of
work. Alyssa earns Php 339.20 for 4 days of work. Daisy earns Php 607.50 for 5
days of work. How much does each person earn per day?

2. Last year the precipitation was 3.5 inches in May, 2.5 inches in
June and 3 inches in July. What was the average
precipitation for the last rainy season?
3. Joseph runs each morning before school. On Monday
he ran 1.34 kilometers. On Tuesday he ran 2.456
kilometers. On Wednesday he ran 2.5 kilometers. On Thursday he
ran 0.375 kilometers. On Friday he ran 0.25 kilometers. How many
kilometers did he rum on the average?
4. Dan Gerald applied for a 12-month loan for motorcycle which costs
Php 32, 301.80. If his downpayment is Php 20, 000.00, how much is his
monthly installment?

1. Darya and Kara are practicing for a race. During practice, Kara swam 11 lap for a
total of 297.22 seconds. Darya swam 12 laps for a total of 246 seconds. How much
longer did it take Kara to swim per lap than Darya?
2. Frank has retired with some savings. He has three daughters and two sons. If he
gives his savings to his daughters only, each daughter will receive Php 18 600. How
much will each child receive if Frank distributes his savings equally among his children?
3. For landscaping, Mr. Santos bought 6 sacks of garden soil and 50 square cm of
Bermuda grass. If the garden soil and Bermuda grass cost Php 153 and Php 315
respectively, how much is the unit price of each item?
4. If Daryl can buy 6 video games for Php 143.10, how much does 4 video games cost?
5. Anne earns Php 50.70 an hour baby-sitting, and Php 40.10 an hour working in the
garden. If she earned a total of Php 272.40, how many hours did she baby-sit? Worked

Activity 3: CHALLENGE: “Decimal Logic Puzzle”
The Jukaykay Clothes Store at the mall has four employees (Eric, Joshua,
Carie, amd Ethan). This week, they worked 33, 49, 50 and 34 hours. The employees at
Jukaykay Clothes Store are paid by the hour. Each employee is paid at a different
hourly rate Php 11.05, Php 20.80, Php 19.65, Php 16.70.
Figure out how many hours each employee worked this week. Also, determine
each employees hourly pay.
