1. Darya and Kara are practicing for a race. During practice, Kara swam 11 lap for a
total of 297.22 seconds. Darya swam 12 laps for a total of 246 seconds. How much
longer did it take Kara to swim per lap than Darya?
2. Frank has retired with some savings. He has three daughters and two sons. If he
gives his savings to his daughters only, each daughter will receive Php 18 600. How
much will each child receive if Frank distributes his savings equally among his children?
3. For landscaping, Mr. Santos bought 6 sacks of garden soil and 50 square cm of
Bermuda grass. If the garden soil and Bermuda grass cost Php 153 and Php 315
respectively, how much is the unit price of each item?
4. If Daryl can buy 6 video games for Php 143.10, how much does 4 video games cost?
5. Anne earns Php 50.70 an hour baby-sitting, and Php 40.10 an hour working in the
garden. If she earned a total of Php 272.40, how many hours did she baby-sit? Worked

Activity 3: CHALLENGE: “Decimal Logic Puzzle”
The Jukaykay Clothes Store at the mall has four employees (Eric, Joshua,
Carie, amd Ethan). This week, they worked 33, 49, 50 and 34 hours. The employees at
Jukaykay Clothes Store are paid by the hour. Each employee is paid at a different
hourly rate Php 11.05, Php 20.80, Php 19.65, Php 16.70.
Figure out how many hours each employee worked this week. Also, determine
each employees hourly pay.
