Dear Administrator,

It is my honor to write to you regarding Miss Hannah Schaefer. I first had the pleasure to meet
Hannah roughly a year ago when she came to United Local to conduct her observation for
Mount Union under my co-worker, Mrs. Katie Davidson, Intervention Specialist. I, too, am an
Intervention Specialist. We work very closely together here at United, so I had the opportunity
to interact with Hannah often. It did not take long for me to realize what a special person she is.
Hannah has a passion for students and teaching that I have not seen a student teacher possess
to this capacity before. I think that it is safe to say that my entire department was excited to
hear that Hannah would be returning to United this year to complete her clinicals.

Hannah has become an invaluable part of our team here. She is someone that can always be
counted on. Give her a job, or ask her to do something, and it will be done and done well. She
is able to connect with students like no student teacher I have ever seen before. Hannah is
professional, reliable, flexible, intelligent and a leader! One of the roles Intervention Specialist
fill here at United is that of a tutor. This means that you can be interacting with material from
any subject area, grades 7-12, on a daily basis. Hannah has excelled in this role, not only as
someone who can explain the material but also as someone who can motivate
reluctant/struggling learners to remain engaged to complete what has been asked of them. This
is no small task as even the most highly seasoned teachers can struggle with this role.

In addition to seeing the leader that Hannah can be in a classroom, I’ve also had the pleasure
to see the leader she is on the court. Sports are something that Hannah excels at and is
passionate about. Talk to her briefly and you will see her light up. I’ve witnessed her first hand
mentoring young athletes, giving advice or showing them moves. She’s given up her own time
to do this, not because it was expected of her, or because there was something in it for her, just
simply because she wants to help them become better. I have no doubt that Hannah will make
a fantastic coach.

Anyone looking to fill a position would be lucky to have Hannah join their team. She will make a
great addition to both your teaching and coaching staff. If I could keep her here, I would.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Valerie Kidder
