WHAT IS DRUG ABUSE?

Drug abuse, is use of a drug in amounts or by


methods which are harmful to the individual or
others. It is a form of substance-related disorder.
Differing definitions of drug abuse are used in
public health, medical and criminal justice
contexts.
TYPES OF DRUG COMMOMLY
ABUSED IN JAMAICA

Alcohol continues to be the most widely drug in Jamaica, with 40


percentage of the population or four out of every 10 people
reporting that they currently use the substances. This is according to
the most recent household drug survey conducted by the national of
council on drug abuse. (NCDA)

 Stimulant Abuse. Stimulants are substances that cause physical and psychological
functions to speed up. ...

Health risk for each drug

COCAINE: Large amounts of cocaine may intensify the user's


high but can also lead to bizarre, erratic, and violent behaviour.
Some cocaine users report feelings of restlessness, irritability,
anxiety, panic, and paranoia.

Adderall abuse: Nervousness, Dizziness, Restlessness,


headache

Opioids abuse: opioids can feel relaxed and happy, but also
experience drowsiness, confusion, nausea, constipation,
and slowed breathing.
Introduction

This project will be focusing on drug on abuse. This will you


know more about abuse and also to be able to know more
about the effects of drug abuse, types of drug abuse and etc.
