Now Available: CAMWorks Version 3.40 
CAMWorks updated! – Now supporting E3 Fire Suppression Agent Releasing 
 
Gamewell‐FCI is pleased to announce CAMWorks v3.40! We have made significant improvements in this latest version 
of CAMWorks, the most noteworthy update is the support for fire suppression releasing applications.  
 
New Releasing Features 
 
Enabling Releasing Features in CAMWorks 
In order to enable the releasing features in CAMWorks v3.40, you must first enable releasing on the ILI‐MB‐E3 in 
General Settings. Figure 1, below, illustrates how to do this.

Notice, in General Settings, once the “Enable Releasing” checkbox has been checked, a prompt appears notifying you 
that releasing configuration options have been added. You must check the “Enable Releasing” check box in General 
Settings for each ILI‐MB‐E3 that you wish to use for releasing. For example, as Figure 1 illustrates, the ILI‐MB‐E3 on 
Node 2 does not have the Releasing option in the selection tree. In this example “Enable Releasing” was not checked.

Releasing Zone Programming 
Gamewell‐FCI’s E3 Series® is capable of supporting up to eight (8) releasing zones per ILI‐MB‐E3. Each zone is custom 
programmable to operate and initiate based on user selectable conditions. These conditions are selectable from the 
Zone Type drop down menu shown in Figure 2, below.

Zone Type allows the user to select how each releasing zone is initiated.  
 
 None – Zone is initiated by any input device associated with the releasing zone. 
 AND Zone – Zone is initiated when two (2) predefined input devices, associated with the releasing zone, are 
triggered. 
 Counting – Zone is initiated when a predefined number of input devices, associated with the releasing zone, 
are triggered.

Coded Patterns for Releasing Stages 
In CAMWorks v3.40, we have built in an intuitive, user friendly 
way to implement distinct tones for Pre‐Alarm, Pre‐Release, 
and Release stages, thereby providing users with an early alert 
that the Releasing system is about to discharge. Users can 
select from five (5) different tone options to differentiate 
between each stage. Visual outputs can also be programmed 
to initiate at Pre‐Alarm and Pre‐Release stages. Figure 3 (right) 
illustrates how to implement this through CAMWorks. 
 
LCD‐SLP Designation and Configuration 
CAMWorks v3.40has a simple‐to‐use configuration screen to 
designate each LCD‐SLP associated with your E3 Releasing 
System. Even in systems with multiple LCD‐SLP’s,  it’s easy to 
designate, and enable each LCD‐SLP to its associated releasing  Figure 3. Coded Pattern
zone, as well as designate an LCD‐SLP as the primary 
“Releasing Panel Operator Interface”. Figure 4, below, shows 
how to implement this in CAMWorks. For more details on LCD‐

Input Devices and Groups 
CAMWorks 3.40 allows users to specifically designate input and output devices for releasing purposes, simplifying the 
programming process for releasing. By adding sensors and input modules to the desired releasing zone, the devices 
will automatically be associated with activating the designated zone. No CAM’ing necessary! This simplifies your CAM 
expression down to simply the Node number and the bit number associated with the releasing zone (NxGy). Figure 5, 
below, illustrates how to add devices to desired releasing zones. For further details on programming release zones, 
please refer to the E3 Series® Releasing System Supplement document in the Supporting Documents section.

Time Limit Cutoff Thermal Track 
The ILI‐MB‐E3 has an internal time limit of 120 seconds when the agent releasing is active. Once this time limit has 
been reached, the system halts its releasing action. The Thermal Track feature bypasses the 120 second time limit and 
can be enabled when a thermal detector is used in the releasing zone. The ILI‐MB‐E3 uses the thermal detector to 
sense if there is still excessive heat in the associated zone, and determines if the solenoid should continue to release 
suppression agents beyond the 120 seconds. For further details on Thermal Track, please refer to the E3 Series®
