solve problems on their own.
3. The instructional approach becomes student-centered learning which allows
students to share in decisions and believe in their capacity to lead.

How Factors Affect the Academic Performance of the FIRST YEAR BS ECE Students
1. The students became more productive since they are already trained in Senior
High School.
2. Students fail to catch up to topics and learn it deeper because the intended time
for learning General Engineering (2 years) was compressed in a shorter period of time
(1 year).
3. Students are no longer able to manage their time due to amount of workloads
brought by the new curriculum.
4. Students learn less since they rely on other students during group activities.
5. Students' learnings differ from low to high, making some of them unable to solve
problems which uses higher level of learning.
