SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The researcher believes that the result of the study will benefit

the following groups of individuals:

School Administration. This study will serve as a guide to

understand the importance of teaching in students’ time management

skills.

Students. The output of the study may serve as a guide on how

they can manage their time effectively. It will give students a

realization about the importance of time management and how their

attitude can affect their academic performance positively or negatively.

At the end of this study, students would determine if they were able to

manage their time well and the results of their behavior can be

reflected in their academic grades.

Teachers. The given data will be beneficial to the teachers for

them to assess the students’ capacity towards their academic

performance. The teachers would be able to understand the reason

behind the students’ academic grades. This study may also help the

teachers in encouraging students in improving their time management

skills.
Parents. The research benefits the parents of the students as

they enroll their children in this institution, and comes with

self-assurance that their children are performing well in terms of their

education.

Future Researchers. The study may provide reference material

and significant information regarding possible topics related to the

present study to the future researchers for conducting further studies

which may validate the result of the present study and at the same

time contribute to the building of knowledge as students’ time

management and self-efficacy towards academic performance are

concerned.

This study would also offer a comprehensive evaluation of the

time management efficiency of students taking up biology classes and

its rating in relation to achievement in the said field of study.


OPERATIONAL DEFINITION OF VARIABLES

The following terms are described operationally for a common

framework of understanding as used in this study.

Academic Performance. It refers to the general average of the

students in the subject areas of Biology for the first semester of the

school year 2021- 2022.

Interaction Effect. It refers to the simultaneous effect of time

management strategies and self-efficacy of students on their academic

performance.

Online Learning. It refers to the online-based method of

education that is adapted to ensure learning amidst the emergence of

the COVID-19 pandemic

Self-Efficacy. It refers to the ability of the students to evaluate

their academic performance by reflecting on their motivation and

behavior over their learning.

Time Management Strategies. It refers to the learning style of

the students and their approach toward planning and allocating their

time between specific tasks.
