INTRODUCTION
Nowadays, time is seen as unspecified and important thing. Once consumed, it cannot be replace
again. On the other hand, it is renewed each day. As discussed by many researchers in the field of education,
time management is a great factors to an individual. If it is managed, it will have better results, if not
performance will be affected (Candelario, 2005). In this generation, time management might affect the
student performance.
METHOD
The study used quantitative descriptive design to obtain information concerning the Senior High
School Students Level of Time Management Skills.
Specifically, it describe what exists with respect to variables such as profiles of the Senior High
School Students and their assessment of Level of Time Management Skills.
The respondents of the study were the total of 329 Senior High School Students of Olivarez College
Tagaytay.
The researchers used adapted questionnaires from Hamoud (2009) that underwent validity and
reliability testing.
Part I of the questionnaires contains item to determine the profile of the respondents such as age,
strand and grade level.
Part II of the questionnaires contains items to determine the Senior High School Students Level of
Time Management Skills.
The following 4-point likert scale was used
4 – Always
3 – Often
2 – Sometimes
1 – Never
For the purpose of arriving at a definite interpretation of the finding, the researcher set score and
mean ranges for the scale were assign for the scale indicating the extent of Level of Time Management
Skills of Senior High School Students in Olivarez College Tagaytay.

Score Ranges Quantitative Description

1 – 1.75 Never
1.76 – 2.50 Sometimes
2.51 – 3.25 Often
3.26 – 4 Always
The permission to conduct a research study was obtained from authorities and among respondents
through a consent form. The researchers distributed adapted questionnaires to gather necessary information.
The researchers interpreted the data gathering after answering the survey tool, the researchers used
frequency distribution, percentage & weighted mean to analyze the data collected.

RESULT
Problem No. 1: What is the demographic profile of the Senior High School Students in Olivarez College
Tagaytay in terms of:
I. Age
II. Strand
TABLE 1. Age of the respondents
Age Frequency Percentage

15 2 0.61
16 86 26.1
17 140 42.6
18 91 27.7
19 9 2.7
20 1 0.30
TOTAL 329 100.01

The table 1 shows the frequency of the age of the respondents ranging from 15 to 20 years old and
its percentage in Olivarez College Tagaytay. The highest number of the respondents are at the age 17
consisting of 140 respondents with 42.6 %. Time Management is the thinking skill that helps teenagers to
prioritize tasks and accurately judge the amount of time needed to complete them. It helps the students
complete activities in a timely fashion, and learn to manage and stick to a schedule. Time Management
often involves teenagers monitoring their own efforts and actions, having an appropriate sense of urgency
to complete assignments, and having the ability to efficiently follow step-by-step procedures (Elliot, 2013).

TOTAL 329 100.28

The table 2 shows the frequency of the strand of the respondents that consist of six strands which
are ABM, STEM, HUMSS, GAS, H.E and ICT in Olivarez College Tagaytay S.Y. The highest number of
the respondents was from the HUMSS strand consisting of 126 respondents with 38.30% and the lowest
number of respondent is at the strand of GAS and ICT consisting of only 26 respondents. Keep track of
their time because in the HUMSS Strand, you will be given lots and lots of research works. At times, you
will be asked to create fiction or non-fiction outputs for a specific subject (Alcantara, n.d.).

TOTAL 2.71 OFTEN

Table 1.
Table 1 reveals the level of time management skills of the respondents in a certain question. The
total weighted mean that was calculated is 2.71.
There are 2 highest mean that was calculated which is 2.92, it talks about doing things in priority
and setting self in a clear and defined goals of the students. Living a life of smart priorities with control in
time is one of the best ways to become much more effective, to make the most of their time and reach goals
with less effort (Babauta, 2009). Doing things in most pressing matter is important to finish things on time.
Prioritizing will help to finalize work in short period of time. In addition According to Vigoda-Gadot and
Angert (2010), it is suggested that appropriate goal setting is important in students because it provides
focus, increases motivation, improves group cohesion and help in performance measurability. Goal setting
contributes a great help to the students as it tends to give them better academic performance to what is
supposed to be accomplished. It may also help them to focus on the things that must be plan toward.
Moreover, the lowest mean that has been calculated was 2.3, it deals with making a to-do list of the
students. Time consuming and costly to prepare if someone has to make the to-do checklist to begin with.
They has a lot of thoughts and plans for a day, so it takes time and that means it could cost the students time
(Merllinger 2018). Students have never ending checklist, each day it add another task. Writing is time
consuming so it’s a waste of time for the students.
DISCUSSION
Overall findings shows that students prefer more prioritizing task and setting self with a clear and
defined goals help the students to plan things in a manner. Prioritizing tasks and setting clear defined goals
help the students in a way in which it allows them to plan things in manner. However, having a to-do lists
is also a great factor to remind them with the task that must be accomplished, but the students are not seeing
this as an effective way as it consumes time or the students probably run out of time. The question has the
weighted mean of 2.71 that corresponds as often as its verbal interpretation of the general average. The total
weighted mean that was calculated is 2.71 and it is often. Furthermore, it proves that the respondents are
well informed about managing their time wisely.
