Project Proposed:-

Marketing and branding strategies adopted by Pharmaceutical Industry in India.

Description of the project

This project finds out the various marketing and branding strategies adopted by
pharmaceutical industries in India. This projects also analyze various types of
pharmaceutical product that are in are into the market. This project focuses on the
main branding activities adopted by major players in the industry, for the druge
which have same effects.

This project analyses the various promotion techniques adopted by pharmaceutical


companies and accessing them, that how beneficial they were? The project also
analyses the importance of websites in promotion of these product. The various
types of feature provided by websites and analyze there market share.

This project also focuses on the importance of new technologies, and innovation in
the pharmaceutical companies. Also in this project some major mergers and
acquisitions will be talked about.

Objectives of the project :-

1. To understand the growth trends, different types of marketing and branding,


activity used by pharmacy companies in India.
2. To compare major players in Pharmaceutical Industry.
Sub Objectives-

1) To asses the impact of branding and marketing strategies across different


verticals.
2) To understand & analyze different features of strategies adopted by these
pharmaceutical companies.

Methodology:

1) Initiate Project: A “Kick off” discussion shall be held before


commencement of the study

2) Secondary Research : Detailed desk research shall be carried out through


Internet , Books , Articles, Case Studies , Audited Reports

3) Analysis and Report presentation: During the last leg of secondary


research, the analysis and Report preparation shall commence. Thereafter,
the Report shall be submitted.

Schedule: 28th June, 2010 – 11th March, 2011

Interim Report: 6th- 10th December, 2010 (1) Sufficient data is not available
as most of the companies does not
reveal their secret information such as revenue generation.

(2) Websites does not provide the exact details of who is the supplier of the
products. Also the trade information is not clearly provided by the websites.

(3) Most of the companies does not give details about marketing and branding
activity over their sites, little amount of information is only available.
