The Mundra power plant is a 4,644MW coal-based thermal power station.

It is
owned by Adani Power, a subsidiary of Adani Group, developed the project.

The plant was developed in four phases and comprises (4 X 330MW units ) and
(5 X 660MW) units. Construction began in 2008 and the project was fully
commissioned in 2013.

The Mundra power plant uses coal imported from a mine in Indonesia, under a
15-year fuel supply agreement signed with Adani Enterprises.

The Phase III of the Mundra Project, which is based on supercritical technology,
has received ‘Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Project certification from
United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Located on a very optimized layout of 734 Acres alongside auxiliaries like cooling
towers, 47 MLD desalination plant and flue gas desulfurization plant.
The plant was constructed in 36 months. APL Mundra is having Long term PPA
with Gujarat State for 2000 MW and with Haryana State for 1424 MW.
