FD, the largest software company in Ireland, offers attractive Global Business Development and Global
Marketing opportunities for elite Graduates in a new Graduate Programme, called Explorers.

Explorers will help you develop your skills and career pathway in an exciting, fast-paced environment
at the forefront of new and innovative technologies. You will be afforded the rare opportunity to attain a
mix of theoretical study and practical experience as you choose between a career in Business Develop-
ment or Marketing in a global PLC. We are seeking elite Graduates, passionate about promoting FD’s
products and services across the capital markets and other industries, such as Pharma, Utilities,
Retail and Manufacturing.

We are keen to attract entrepreneurial high achievers, and from a broad range of degree backgrounds.
We are looking for enthusiasm and raw talent, so previous experience whilst attractive, is not essential.
You will be challenged throughout the programme—not least because you will work with senior
management within the Company, but also because you will work on live projects across multiple
industries. In addition to developing your presentation and communications skills, we will invest
heavily in your personal development with the option to enrol on an accredited marketing qualification.

A key part of Explorers, is the potential to travel globally. You will spend circa 3-6 months at HQ,
reporting directly to our CEO and VP Marketing, gaining an understanding of the intricacies of our
business model. Then, based on performance, you will either choose between a role working on client
site in major financial centers, or have the opportunity to be deployed in a major city in a Business
Development capacity, with the autonomy of building your own pipeline. We do not believe this type of
Graduate opportunity exists anywhere else!

Less than a year after joining FD Kevin was reporting
directly to the Chief Operating Officer in a marketing role.

“As First Derivatives continues to expand its global

footprint I have been fortunate in my role here to work in
North America, Europe and Asia. At our Headquarters in
Newry I worked on several key initiatives reporting directly
to our CEO Brian Conlon which was invaluable.

More recently I have helped establish our presence on the

ground in Asia. I predominantly work in Business Develop-
ment concentrating mainly on capital markets but increas-

OUR EMPLOYEES

Kevin has been working in the financial industry for just over 8 years.

He joined First Derivatives plc (FD) in February 2010 initially as part of its
subsidiary company Market Resource Partners (MRP).

After approximately a year in MRP, Kevin was reassigned to work directly for
FD in a marketing capacity reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer.
In this role he was responsible for corporate communications, collateral
development, website content and management of the internal CRM system
that is used throughout the business. Due to the rapid growth that FD
undertook within this period he joined the Finance team and managed the
accounts receivable team which was responsible for generating all invoicing
for the group.

More recently Kevin moved into a role that involved working directly for the CEO in several projects. He
has been leading the development of the reporting tool that is used for analysing overall company perfor-
mance allowing the Executive Management team to evaluate group, business, practice and even individual
performance.

Kevin is now in Asia performing a critical role for FD in further establishing its presence in Singapore,
Hong Kong and Japan. He is actively involved in a business development role across the region to facili-
tate planned expansion in APAC. This involves working closely with the Managing Director for APAC in
driving the business forward in region across both the Kx Technology product suite and the capital markets
consulting industry.

Zoe studied Chemical Engineering at Queens’ University Belfast but soon

realised it wasn’t for her and wanted to move into finance instead. Rather than
joining a bank and possibly being restricted in career options she saw the
opportunity with First Derivatives to gain exposure across multiple institutions -
and the opportunity to travel the world

In her first few weeks in FD she was immersed in finance and technology training
courses in HQ and partaking in workshops with senior consultants. Senior
management soon indentified that she would be very well suited to a business
development role but needed to gain the necessary skills and insight into our
clients to be truly effective. She joined RBS as a Business Analyst within the risk
team in London. It was a steep learning curve but FD provided excellent support
and all her training material was available online.

“First Derivatives brand is built around the high calibre of its consultants and for that reason we are
encouraged to attend conferences and networking events to represent the company. I was lucky to attend
many high profile events in London ranging from Lords Cricket Club, to the top of The Gherkin and the
Institute of Directors on Pal Mall. Since then my role developed into a full time Business Development role
and I moved to NYC to help expand our presence here. I currently cover all of North America regularly
spending time in Chicago, Boston and Toronto."

Zoe’s job entails prospecting new clients across the sell side and buy side, account management of some
of our top global accounts and sourcing/working with partners within FinTech. FD has grown five- fold
since her move to New York and is working across 70% of sell side Investment Banks in North America.

 Aoibhin - I graduated from the University of Ulster with a degree in Communications,
Advertising and Marketing. I joined First Derivatives as part of the Marketing stream in
their first graduate intake in 2009. There were six graduates in this stream, and immedi-
ately we were all given distinct roles and responsibilities.

Initially, I worked closely with the directors on hiring and recruitment, developing
software product collateral, and website design and support. I was also responsible for
the review and re-design of a leading US IT company’s website

Later I started work as a support analyst for one of the off-shore support systems based
in First Derivatives headquarter before moving to London to work on client sites directly.
In those roles I have been supporting key front-to-back Interest Rate Derivatives systems
and providing global operational and business support to users across all areas of the
bank,

First Derivatives has been a great experience after university to learn so much, meet
some great people, and develop professionally.

Kevin - I joined First Derivatives as part of the inaugural Options Programme in

August 2009 after studying law at university. I worked initially as part of the Sales and
Marketing team working closely with senior management on a wide variety of tasks
such as investor presentations and competitor analysis. It was really exciting to work
with such a dynamic and rapidly expanding company.

Working in this capacity gave me insight into the types of markets that FD operates in
and the range of innovative products within Kx Technology. As a result I decided to
embark upon a career within the Capital Markets Consulting division and received
extensive and practical training in our Newry Headquarters in conjunction with
increasing my financial knowledge through the Capital Markets Training Programme.

I subsequently joined RBS in London helping to support and maintain their cornerstone
rates trading system. This was a formative experience in my career and I gained a huge
amount of technical experience as well as learning to interact with traders and working
directly on a busy trading floor. After 3.5 years of this exciting and challenging work I
transitioned into business analysis and began working in the regulatory field specifi-
cally Market Infrastructure Regulations and Asset Encumbrance regulations in both
RBS and Morgan Stanley.

Karen - Having a business degree majoring in Marketing and a Masters in Electronic

Business, the diversification that FD offered as a graduate quickly attracted my attention.

Not many graduates have the opportunity to work directly with their CEO, but from the
start I worked with Senior Management on the optimisation of FD website, specifying
marketing collateral and helping draw together deep-dive technical documents of the
expanding product suite. Through this exposure my interest in Capital Markets
consulting gathered momentum and I changed streams to become a Financial Engineer.

My first role as a Financial Engineer was based in NYC, working on the largest trading floor
in the world! Playing to my technical strengths, I started as desktop developer responsible
for creating a prototype P&L trade reconciliation tool. In an energetic environment and on
what was a steep learning curve

A move to London further opened up opportunities to fine tune my business analysis skills
and complete my Prince2 Project Management qualification, endorsed by FD. I've had
exposure to numerous areas of the bank stretching from Front Office to Prime Brokerage.
Projects have varied from regulatory and legal implementations such as AIFMD to design-
ing and leading the execution of a Client Centric portal for Risk Managers.

 Jamie - Since joining First Derivatives,
following an initial spell as part of it’s
subsidiary company Market Resource
Partners, I’ve been afforded an opportunity to
play a key role in spearheading the compa-
ny’s expansion of its fast data offering into
other industries. After a spell working
independently, while reporting directly to the
CEO, I was entrusted with scaling the
initiative and building a Newry based
Business Development team tasked with
uncovering new opportunity areas and filling
the sales funnel on a global scale.

Earlier this year, I relocated to Munich,

Germany in a Business Development capaci-
ty, assigned with the role of establishing and
managing my own sales pipeline autono-
mously in-region, from initial prospecting
right through to closed deals, across all
facets of the business. To be granted this
level of responsibility is as challenging as it
has been rewarding and I’ve been fortunate
to gain invaluable experience managing all
stages of client engagement while working
with great people in the process.
