Parent/teacher conferences begin this
week! Tuesday and Thursday are ½ days.
If you have not yet had a chance to do so,
please use our links to sign up for parent-teacher
conferences. If you are having trouble using the
site or have any questions about conference
times/dates, just let us know. We’d be happy to find
a time to talk with you in person!

If you have gently used books that you no
longer need, we are accepting book donations for
Book Bingo. There are green bins in hallways
throughout the school. Simply place books in any
of these bins. You may also send used books to
donate with your child.
We will have a health education preview on
Wednesday, April 1 at 6:00. This is an optional
event for parents to see our heath curriculum and
ask any questions.

Social Studies/Science
Science instruction focuses on the way
animals use their senses to gather information
about their environment in order to survive.
Social studies instruction continues to
connect economics to our Book Bingo fundraiser.
Students are also differentiating to work on various
jobs for the event.
Math
Students will continue to work on finding
equivalent fractions using multiplication and division
as well as finding common denominators to
compare fractions.
Using drawings, fraction strips and other
concrete models are useful tools in helping kids to
understand what is happening conceptually with
fractions.
Reading
We are on unit 4, week 5 of our Reading
Street reading program. Students will read
Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Slippery
Salamander.
Our comprehension skill is using character
and plot to understand the structure of stories and
how they are written. Students will identify conflict,
rising action, climax and resolution within this story
and other texts.
