Chapter 2

Research Methodology

This chapter concentrates on the discussion of the

research method employed to efficiently answer the problems

posed for investigation. Included in this chapter are the

methodology and procedure in gathering the data, the subject

of the study, the instruments used, the respondents and

sampling procedure, and the statistical treatment.

Research Method

The researchers utilized the descriptive method of

research because it involves collecting numerical data to

test hypothesis and answer questions concerning current

status, which is collected through questionnaires. The main

goal of this type of research is to describe the data and

characteristics about what is being studied (Tiongson,2008).

The Respondents and Sampling Procedure

The respondents of the study were the randomly selected

Senior High School learners from Grade 11 to Grade 12 of

Restituto B. Peria National High School for the S.Y 2019-

2020 located at the Bibiclat, Aliaga, Nueva Ecija.

Table 1 shows the total number of respondents which

included 10 students from Grade 11-Gold, 10 students from

Grade 11-Silver, 10 students from Grade 11- Bronze, 10

students from Grade 12- Victory, 10 students from Grade 12-

Quest, and 10 students from Grade 12- Triumph.

Research Locale

The study was conducted among the Senior High School

learners of Restituto B. Peria National High School.

Data Gathering Instrument

The questionnaire was the main data gathering

instrument used in this study. It contains questions raised

from the statement of the problem.


Administration of the Questionnaire

The researchers asked permission from the school

principal, head teacher and adviser to conduct the study.

When the approval was granted, the researchers gave the

approved letter to the Principal of the Junior High School

Department to schedule the administering of the survey

questionnaire.

The questionnaires were administered by the

researchers. Instructions were carefully read and explained

to the respondents. The questionnaire was answered in almost

a minute.

The researchers tallied the respondents’ profile and

the answer in the survey questionnaire.
