Treatment of Canine Babesia

Other Diagnostic Method

Intraerythrocytic piroplasms, Hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, splenomegaly, hemoglobinuria, bilirubinemia.
Examination of intraerythrocyte merozoites is known as gold standard for diagnosis of the canine Babesi. However, parasi-
taemia can only be observed from 2~41 days p.i., making diagnosis of the low-level or intermittent parasitaemia difficult.
Therefore we recommend you the serologic diagnosis by using Bionote Rapid Canine Babesia Ab Test Kits. B. vogeli in
dogs, antibody production started on seven days p.i., and then the antibody titres decreased slightly until day 160. (Brandao
et al. 2003)
