Daily Schedule:

8:05-8:15 Morning Work


❏ Welcome students
❏ Take attendance
❏ Morning Work- Sight word practice worksheet

8:15-8:30 Morning Meeting (New Carpet Seats)


❏ Sing good morning song to welcome everyone in class
❏ Feeling circle: pass around and have each student say what color
they are feeling and why.
❏ Pick morning jobs and talk about the day.

8:30-9:00 Number Corner


❏ Say date, have students repeat the date back.
❏ Sing days of the week song. Ask students if they would like a
challenge to sing it by themselves or say it backwards.
❏ Pick a number of the day.
❏ Write the number, Pick a shape with the number of sides, show in tally
marks.
❏ Count how many students are in class today.
❏ Show new numbers in number packet, explain on board, have
students go back to their chairs and work independently.

9:05-9:25 Foundational skills


❏ Show letter flash cards- students say the sound of each letter being
shown
❏ Popcorn flash cards
❏ Rhyme time- clap if the words rhyme, “wipe away” if they don’t
❏ Body break
❏ Morning message (find sight words) or letter of the day (ask students
to say words that start with the letter of the day, write them down on
board).

9:30-10:05 Recess/ Snack

10:05-10:45 Literacy
❏ Draw to write: have students practice following directions on board.
Make the shape/animal- write them name on the bottom
❏ Read aloud- A house for hermit crab; Intro poster, make predictions,
introduce retelling and how we retell a story.
❏ Read story.
❏ make a retelling wheel.

10:45-11:05 Social Emotional Lesson or STEM

11:15-11:55 Lunch/ Recess

12:00-12:30 Special: PE, Library, Music, Art

12:35-1:10 Math
❏ Math Centers or
❏ Ten Frame Curriculum- Get ten frame boards out, show on board and
have students follow on their own ten frame board.

1:15-1:30 Recess

1:35-2:10 Choice time


Prep morning work for next day or put together friday folders.

2:10-2:30 Pack up, clean up and read story while waiting.
