RE: Unit 3 Project Proposal CE

Date: October 20, 2010

I am going to discuss the English 320 Unit 4 project. Today, fish and wildlife
management is overlooked throughout this country. At times we don’t know how much of an
impact we have on Fish and Wildlife and vice versa. There are resource management concerns,
economic benefit, health concerns relating to Fish and Wildlife management. If a certain
species is starting to over populate we could end up having disease and then the whole
population could be at risk. And from an economic standpoint people support the economy buy
spending money on equipment, trips and food while hunting. Some of these aspects of fish and
wildlife management are overlooked. Here below I will state how I will go about what is
including the importance of Fish and Wildlife management.

Summary

This would be to create a pamphlet containing the importance of fish and wildlife
management. The final project will consist of me handing in a finished copy of the pamphlet on
the due date. The reason I chose the importance of fish and wildlife management is that we as
society have a strong influence of how to go about sustaining our natural environment. We as
humans need to balance the populations of wildlife so we can live as one throughout the world.
Not only looking at an environmental standpoint, I also see managing fish and wildlife as an
economic benefit. From schooling, interviews, in-depth research and basic knowledge of the
environment, I will take a look at the importance of Fish and Wildlife Management.

Writing:
The amount of detail writing for this project will play an important role in writing information
about my project. The reason being is that I need to be accurate with good fluid, precise
information on how to go about the importance of fish and wildlife management. The pamphlet
will consist of different references surrounding the issue of fish and wildlife management. I’ll be
constructing a pamphlet for the project. The reason that I am choosing a pamphlet is that it
seems to be the most appropriate. A brochure seems too small. The pamphlet will be the right
size for what information I will obtain.

Visual/technological communication:
In the visual aspect of communication I will be using different visual media and graphs. The
pamphlet will include the pictures for the reader to show the importance of the issue. I will also
be putting in a graph of how the issue of the managing of Fish and Wildlife influences an area
economically. I think that pictures and graphs do help out in driving home the points that I am
trying to get across to the reader.

Objectives
Obtainable self Objectives:
Even though I have been around the issue of importance of fish and wildlife management for
most of my life, I still believe that I have plenty to learn. Here are some objectives that I hope to
learn from this project.
 To be able to take this information that I have obtained/learned and spread the
information for the rest of my life to the future generations.
 To learn something different from what I already know of the importance of wildlife
management.
 To answer questions that the general public would ask when reading the pamphlet
Practical Objectives:
 Be able to communicate my ideas effectively to the public and importance of the issue
at hand.
 To learn the new concept of how to write a quality pamphlet by seeing what is effective
and what is not.

Method
As I will continue my future in becoming a Conservation Officer, I hope to relate the importance
of Fish and Wildlife Management to the public and future generations in a safe manner. I will
accomplish this by using my prior knowledge from schooling and basic skills that I have
obtained throughout my life and to relate this valuable information. This is the method I will be
following to obtain quality information on the importance of Fish and Wildlife management.

1. I will quickly overview the topic and research to see how much information I will be
collecting. With this process I will be refreshing my memory and update my skills of
creating a pamphlet.
2. I will be collecting information from the internet and book sources now until the final
draft is due.
3. I will lay out my pamphlet and try to figure out how I will present the information
throughout the pamphlet.
4. I will conduct an interview with certain people associated with importance of Fish and
Wildlife Management from the economic and managing wildlife standpoint.
5. After I have gathered quality and consistent information in the previous steps I will start
revising my rough draft of the pamphlet.
6. When I have gathered all information and the pamphlet is ready for review. I will have a
close friend of mine who is an English student read and critique my pamphlet.
7. After that is done. I will make corrections and submit the final copy by the project due
date.

Benefit of Project
I am personally looking forward to the project. I enjoy learning about the wildlife. I see this as
