Introduction
Context
The personal project is an opportunity the IB curriculum has given me to utilise my passions and
to utilise my interests by taking an action towards a problem that is being neglected. I choose a
topic that would interest me throughout the period of the project and as an IB learner, I will take
this opportunity a step further by utilizing this platform to demonstrate my skills learnt through
the exploration of my passion.

Choosing a topic was difficult as my ideas were broad and after narrowing down my thoughts I
chose the topic “Hunger problems in Andhra Pradesh during the Covid Pandemic” in an
attempt to do all I can to help change the situation of people in Andhra Pradesh by spreading
awareness on the situation and supporting them. This topic needed more understanding and I
wanted to make sure the awareness was spread to a large number of audience. I choose to create
a documentary as it evokes something larger than a story or a character and it lingers in our
memory for a long period of time which can provoke the audience to take action. The
documentary will talk about the situation of Andhra Pradesh and it would speak my voice of
investigation. The product will be based on facts and perspectives of the people.

Goal/Product
My goal is “ To spread awareness about the Hunger problems faced by the people of
Andhra pradesh during the Covid pandemic and to persuade the audience to take action.”
My goal is highly challenging as it requires a fair amount of persuasion and storytelling
techniques to provoke the audience to take a sustainable action. During this project I will
discover the situation of the people in Andhra Pradesh during the covid pandemic and that will
help grow my inquiring and communicating skills. Once I figured out my goal and related
context I need the guiding question to begin with which will help keep my project in focus. My
guiding question is “What is the current status of the state Andhra Pradesh on aspects of Hunger
problems, and what are the solutions?.

My journal will assist me in achieving my goal because it is a place that collects the evidence of
my journey of learning about the hunger problems in Andhra Pradesh. The Journal will also help
in displaying my research, surveys and interviews that I have collected as a part of primary and
secondary research. I have documented many such events and by the end of the project my
outcome will be shown successfully through a documentary that I have created. My product
would have all the information gathered from the research. My final highly challenging goal that
I decided upon is “ To explore, research and create a documentary that will help understand
the hunger problems faced by Andhra Pradesh during the Covid pandemic and to
persuade the audience to take sustainable action.”
Global Context

. As hunger problems in Andhra Pradesh grow rapidly, we must take action to help them fight
this and recover as soon as possible. During the first phase of lockdown, I have visited my
grandparent's house in Andhra Pradesh and there I saw many daily labours who couldn’t afford
to buy food due to an increase in prices and loss of jobs that's when I decided I wanted to help
them and started to distribute money and sanitary items and now I want to continue with the
help of everyone in a sustainable way. I have always wanted to help people that require food as
it is a need for everyone to live and it gives the happiness of fulfilling someone’s day. Through
this help, I can make many poor children's lives better with good food for them to grow and have
a bright future. I chose the state of Andhra Pradesh because I have seen people over there and
I wanna target that region first.
