1) MOTIVATION
2) ACTIVITY
Scavenger Hunt
The class will be divided into groups. Each group have to look around and search for things that
are on the hunt list.
How to play:
1. Scavenger hunt requires children to find recyclable items hidden inside the classroom
listed on the hunt list (5 minutes).
2. They must bring the items one by one and keep them on the table.
3. Once all the items are found, make them create something out of it.
Then, pupils will share their thoughts about these questions:
1) What are the facts that you know about plastics?
2) How are they similar and different to each other?
PLASTIC RECYCLING
Plastic recycling refers to the process of recovering waste or scrap plastic and reprocessing the
materials into functional and useful products. This activity is known as the plastic recycling
process. The goal of recycling plastic is to reduce high rates of plastic pollution while putting
less pressure on virgin materials to produce brand new plastic products. This approach helps to
conserve resources and diverts plastics from landfills or unintended destinations such as oceans.
important.
There are six common types of plastics. Following are some typical products you will find for
each of plastic:
PS (Polystyrene) – Example: foam hot drink cups, plastic cutlery, containers, and yogurt.
PP (Polypropylene) – Example: lunch boxes, take-out food containers, ice cream containers.
PET (Polyethylene terephthalate) – Example: fruit juice and soft drink bottles.
THE PLASTIC RECYCLING PROCESS
The simplest of plastic recycling processes involves collecting, sorting, shredding, washing,
melting, and pelletizing. The actual particular processes vary based on plastic resin or type of
plastic product.
Step One: Sorting plastics automatically or with a manual sort to make sure all the contaminants
are removed from the plastic waste stream.
Step Two: Melting down plastics directly into a new shape or shredding into flakes then melting
down before being finally processed into granulates.
QUESTIONS:
1) How significant it is to know the recycling process?
2) How recycling can improve our standard of living?
3) Why recycling plastics are important in today’s world?
5) Application

Don't make the same mistakes, give today 100% of your attention and hope all your decisions
turn out favorable. Ask what you do not know and learn. Never loose hope for we do not know
what tomorrow will bring.
“Remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see
and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may
seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at.
It matters that you don't just give up.”
