Kinematic analysis (Graphical & ADAM/any other SW)

1. The machine shown in Figure is a common punch press designed to

perform successive stamping operations. The machine is powered and at the
instant shown is coming up to full speed. The driveshaft rotates clockwise with
an angular velocity of 72 rad/s. Carry out the kinematic and energy analysis of
machine
a. Determine the velocity and acceleration of the stamping die, which will
strike the workpiece.
b. Determine the kinetic energy and force of the stamping die, which will
strike the workpiece. (Mass of die 1.5Kg)
c. Determine energy requirement of die holding link (assume M.I. one unit )
d. Determine the power of the motor (neglect the other losses)

2. Dual robotic welding arm shown in Figure the crank AB is 75 mm long and
rotates clockwise at 8 rad/s. L(BC) =300 mm and L(BD) =L(CD) =L (DE). Find
the velocity and acceleration of pistons C and E.

A mechanism to spray water onto vehicles at an automated car

wash shown in figure. Classify the spray water mechanism ,
based on its possible motion , when the length of the links are as
follow

Case 1 a=12in, b=1.5 in , c= 14 in , d= 4 in.

Case 2 a=12in, b=5 in , c= 12 in , d= 4 in.
Case 3 a=12in, b=3 in , c= 8 in , d= 4 in.
Case 4 a=12in, b=3 in , c= 12 in , d= 5 in.

Select most suitable design from above option. Simulate the

transmission angle.
