THE KIN AND QUEKN OF STUNTS

Computer-generated imaging (CGI) is now normal in all kinds of films, from horror and
action films to childrens and fantasy films. But there are still lots of stuntmen and
women, and there are still actors who want to do their own stunts. Angelina Jolie is one
of the few Hollywood actresses who choose to do their own stunts. She says, ‘I’ve
always loved to run, jump around and be physical.’
In one of her latest films, Salt, she was injured during filming.
She now has a scar just above her nose. Her co-star said,
Angelina wanted to do every stunt and she did. No CGI in the
movíe, no stunt double, its all her.’
The best-known male film star who does his own stunts is Tom Cruise. He is in his forties now,
but he doesnt want to stop. In the latest Mission Impossible film, he hung from the worlds tallest
building. His assistant said, ‘He believes that if he performs the stunts himsclf, the audience
believes more in his character.’
These two actors are rich enough not to do anything they don’t want. But they still want to take
risks for their art!
