Professor Sheikh\ Muhammed Ibn Gamal Ibn

Abd-Elrahman Alsuyuti
He is Abu Abdullah, Muhammed Ibn Gamal Ibn Abd Elrahman Alsuyuti,
Alhessany in ancestry, Suyuti in born, Salafi in belief, Hanbali in faith.
Professor of Islamic Studies at SOAS University, London, Former Head of
the Department of Arabic Language at Manchester Metropolitan
University, and Dean of the Institute of Languages and Islamic Studies.

He was born in Assuit, Upper Egypt. He finished memorization of the


Quran to some readers when he was sixteen years old and completed
his University Studies in Assuit in Business Administration. He then
moved to Madina in Saudi Arabia seeking Islamic knowledge at the
Islamic University and in the Prophet’s Holy Mosque (Al-Masjid an-
Nabawī). As he obtained a higher award with Honours in Bachelor of
Sharia, he then moved to the Russian Federation and he taught Islamic
Sciences in the Main Mosque in Moscow and in some Islamic Republics.
He then moved to Britain where he began pursing, advocating and
teaching the Islamic Community because of his passion in Islamic
Science. He went to University and obtained the Bachelor’s degree in
Education and English Language from the University of Leeds
Metropolitan. He continued high studies at University of Leeds and
received master’s and doctoral degree in Interpretation of The Quran
and Comparative Jurisprudence. He then began University Teaching
alongside advocating the Islamic Community. He is one of the founders
of the Institute of Languages and Islamic Studies in Britain.

He received Islamic knowledge from a number of Scholars such as:

 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammed Almukhtar Ibn Alamin


Alshanqity, Head of Department of Usul Al-fiqh of Islamic Studies at
Madina University. He studied with him Usul Al-fiqh and was
awarded Ijaza in the book ‘A note of Usul Al-fiqh’ by Muhammed
Alamin Alshanqity and ‘Rawdat Al-nazer and Jannat Almanzer’ by Ibn
Qudama.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Mustafa Makhdum Qarea. He studied with
him Usul Al-fiqh and read a book called ‘Rawdat Al-nazer and Jannat
Almanzer’ by Ibn Qudama.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Hammad Alansari. He read with him and
was granted the Ijaza award in the book ‘Al-Imaan’ by Saheh Al-
bukhari.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Mousa Alqarni, Head of Department of Usul
Al-fiqh of Islamic Studies at Madina University. He studied with him
Usul Al-fiqh and read to him the book ‘Rawdat Al-nazer and Jannat
Almanzer’ by Ibn Qudama.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammed Ibn Muhammed Almukhtar
Alshanqity, who is a prominent figure in the Prophet’s mosque. He
studied with him the Hanbali School and read to him the book ‘Al-
Udda’ by Ibn Qudama, ‘Zad al-mustaqnaa’ and ‘Bedayat Al-
mugtahed’ by Ibn Rushd Al-hafeed.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammed Mustafa, the son of Alshanqity.
He studied under him Jurisprudence of Legitimate Policy (Fiqh Al-
syasa Al-sharia) and completed reading to him the book of ‘Al-
Ghyathi’.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Ali Alomry studied with him Comparative
Jurisprudence and read to him the book of ‘Bidayet Al-mugtahed’ by
Ibn Rushd.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Hamoud Alsahly and studied with him the
book of ‘Subul Assalam’ by Al-sanaani.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammed Shaalan studied with him
Arabic Grammar and read to him the book of ‘Awdah Al-msalek’ by
Alfyet Ibn Malek.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Alghuniman, who is a prominent
figure in the Prophet’s mosque, studied with him Islamic faith
(Aqeeda), read and granted him the Ijaza award in the book ‘Al-
Aqeeda Al-tahawyya’.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abd Elmuhsin Alabbad, who is a prominent
figure in the Prophet’s mosque, studied with him the religious faith
(Aqeeda) and accompanied him for four years. He read and was
granted by him the Ijaza award in the book ‘Al-aqeeda Al-tahawyya’.
Also, in the Hanbali Fiqh, he read to him the book ‘Zad al-mustaqnaa’
and the book ‘Saheh Al-bukhari’ but did not complete it.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Mansour Alsmari studied with him sciences
of Hadith and he read to him the book ‘Tadreb Alrawey’ and
‘Moqademt Ibn Alsalah’ and completed with him studying ‘Saheh Al-
bukhari’.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abd Elaziz Qarea, the Imam and Preacher of
Qubaa mosque, Former Dean of the college of Quran and Chairman
of the Committee of review of the Holy Quran, studied with him the
book of ‘Interpretation of Quran’ by Ibn Kather.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammed Altamimy, Head of Department
of Faith in Faculty of Theology at Madina, studied with him the book
‘Al-aqeeda Al-tahweyya’.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abd Elaziz AlUbaid, studied with him
‘Tafseer Ibn Kather’.
 Chief Justice of Madina, his Eminence Sheikh Dr. Attia Muhammed
Salem, who is the Judge of the Grand Court at Madina and a lecturer
of teaching at the Prophet’s mosque, read and granted to him the
Ijaza award in the book ‘Alwarqat in Usul el Fiqh’ and studied with
him part of the book ‘Almwataa’ by Imam Malek.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abd Alrafea Redwan, a Professor of the
Holy Quran at the Faculty of Quran, granted him the Ijaza award in
the book ‘Tufat Alatfal and Algazreya’.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Ibn Muhammed Alamin
Alshanqity, Dean of Faculty of Quran, studied with him the Tafseer.
He read to him the book ‘Tafseer Al Quran al Azeem’ by Ibn Kather.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Sulaiman Alrahely, studied with him the
Science of Inheritance ‘al Faraed’ and granted him the Ijaza award in
‘Alrahbeya’.
 His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Fehd Almatery, Head of Department of Fiqh
in Faculty of Sharia at Madina University, studied with him the book
of ‘Al-mughni’ by Ibn Qudama.
Along with his work, he read the Quran with two readings at the hands
of a number of scholars such as: Abd Al-hakim Abd Al-salam Khater,
Imam of Holy Mosque and Sheikh Muhammed Ayyoub.

He was also granted the Ijaza award from Sheikh Musbah Aldesouki and
Sheikh Muhammed Ayyoub. It is one of the highest awards in the Minor
Ten Readings of Quran.

His Publications:

1- Al-mukhtsar Al-mufed of Tajweed.


2- Al-ourf and its result of Al-hukm in the light of Hanbali School.
3- Interpretation of Surat Al-tawba, Comparative Fiqh Study.
4- Interpretation of Surat Al-nour, Comparative Linguistic and
Jurisprudential Fiqh Study.
5- Story of Shouib in the Holy Quran.
6- Relationship of Ayahs and Surahs in the Holy Quran.

He worked as an Imam and Preacher at a number of Mosques and


Islamic centers in London, Leeds and Burnley. Many of people recite to
him from Madina, Egypt, Britain, Holland, Pakistan and Afghanistan and
he grants awards (Ijaza) to them in Quran, Hadith and other Islamic
Sciences.

In addition to the above, he supervises on Fatwa and Courses in training


Imams and students of knowledge, to spread Islam.
