INITIAL DRAFT.
March 2020.
FADE IN.
EXT: WOODLAND PATHWAY. – EVENING (DUSK).
Starts with the camera trailing along a woodland path that twists
and turns off into the distance. Camera started around head height
to get a view of the surroundings and then as the camera moves along
the path the camera lows and gets closer to the ground and the
starts to navigate through the foliage to get to the to start of the
main animation.
Camera closes in on the slime mold that is curled up and pulsing
below an elevated log. Mold starts to move and the camera draws back
to reveal what is spelled out on the stretched body of the slime
mold – feeding plasmodium - as the feeding plasmodium continues to
move it travels across bacteria and other small fungi, pulsing as it
consumes* and moves on. *Bacteria and small fungi will decrease in
size and the slime mold will grow.
CUT TO.
Slime mold is now maturing into a matured plasmodium, where the
camera will focus on the text spelled out in the new slime old body
- matured plasmodium -that will then begin trailing off to the to
climb on top of the log feeding on the lichen and other
fungus/bacteria available.
Slime mold then begins to pulse again and begins to shrink so that
it can form the sporangia and fruiting body of the slimes mold so it
can start to reproduce. Camera will cut to the top of the newly
formed fruiting body and will then then trail down revealing the
text ‘’fruiting body also know as the sporangia.’’ Sprawled out
along and curled along the log.
Camera will then cut to the fruiting body that are pulsating and
slowly growing bigger on top of the log getting ready to release the
spores into the environment.
Spores are released and the fruiting body withers and wilts and the
spores go off bouncing and flying about through the air – camera
will then cut to being in the cluster of spores getting tossed about
and then crashing down to new destination on the woodland path.
Fading in and out from black to scene.
Spores will then aggregate together in new location and start to
from flagellated cells that will roll around each other and start to
form a blob of nuclei that will then transition back into a feeding
plasmodium. Camera will draw back and fade out.
FADE OUT.
